I'm trying to get into photography, but I lack a necessity. The camera, I ain't gonna buy those insta-degradable cameras anytime soon, so I actually need an okay digital camera.

What I'm looking for is something with a fast response speed, anything from 3mp to 6 should be okay. Fast response speed when in the menu and/or taking pictures is the priority here, everything else... well, I don't know about everything else.

and may I ask here what are those common terms used for cameras like ISO's and stuff? Any directions on where to look? (a modern dictionary of digital camera terms might help. @_@)

Nowadays entry level DSLR is common...different in on price and slightly on spec...most important you know WHAT YOU WANT AND YOU BUDGET

for me, i look at camera like this

all-rounder without having to change lens - ProSumers
cons : size, price

small-sized convenience - P&S
cons : price (or not, depending on what you're getting), lesser controls (again, depends on price usually)

all-rounder but have to change lens - DSLR
cons : size, price

----------

the above is based on my experience, it may not paint a very detailed picture BUT i hope it does give you some pointers.

i have P&S, Prosumer and DSLR. smile.gif my fav is DSLR but there were times i wish that i have P&S / Prosumer with me.

I started digital photography using an 1mp P&S a few years back, then moved on to 5mp prosumer and just stepped up to DSLR.

Learned the skills slowly during my travelling abroad and I don't feel ashamed of shooting my photos using a smaller camera than the fella next to me.

Important thing is be humble to learn and use Internet to browse for the info you need.

i was FORCED to pick up photography a couple years back coz it's compulsory in syllabus...used a nikon slr f55 and feel in love instantly, especially times in the darkroom...now..i'm just a lazy mutha***ker that prefers digital over film...if u have the chance...start with film, the fun is totally different
