Hi,

I'm planning to use Unifi for my Astro IPTV connection. Wondering if it is possible? Or Astro IPTV only allow Maxis Fibre?

Please help, thank you wink.gif

Actually I had subscribe the IPTV with my existing Unifi subscription. Both of Astro and TM staff come over during the installation. Now I only pay the IPTV and internet bill under Astro bill.

it is offered by astro. Astro will provide the IPTV decoder. Package is based on your preference. I took the package with 10MB internet package. So all bill inclusive internet is paid with the Astro bill. Both Astro and TM/Unifi reps will attend during the installation. Quality is the same as cable TV.

Are you sure you are not on astro iptv, internet under maxis? In normal astro iptv environment, where utilizing maxis fiber under TM infrastructure, TM people will attend to the BTU installation and astro people will attend to the installation of maxis modem and then the astro installation.

Currently astro iptv ISP (eventhough internet by maxis fiber, the price is the most expensive in MY)

10Mbps - RM148
20Mbps - RM198
30Mbps - RM248

Like I said, previously I used Unifi for my internet with 30 Mbps (upgraded from the std 5 MBps). But the internet connection are still lousy. Then Astro call me to make an offer to upgrade my current Astro to IPTV and told me that I could use the current Unifi connection (which later they convert the line to Maxis). So I took their IPTV plus 10MBps package. And both Unifi/TM and Astro staff attends it. Old decoder of Astro and HyppTV are taken back and replace with new Astro IPTV decoder.

Btw I stay in Bandar Seri Putra, located between Bangi and Nilai.

ah... now that u hv clarified in total.

u r actually ex-unifi user then, moved on to maxis/astro.

u accepted maxis changeover offer and is now 100% maxis customer.

this is common - maxis/astro riding on tm infra.

but as already pointed out, this maxis broadband is more costly than unifi, for any speed.

so, astro iptv + unifi broadband does not exist.

Just to further clarify....

astro iptv customers who ride on maxis fiber is not maxis fiber customers. They are astro iptv customers, eventhough ISP provided by maxis.

Astro IPTV price for internet

10Mbps - RM148 maxis fiber - RM139
20Mbps - RM198 -
30Mbps - RM248 maxis fiber - RM179 (free DECT phone for unlimited calls to all network)
50Mbps N/A maxis fiber - RM219 (free DECT phone for unlimited calls to all network)
100Mbps N/A maxis fiber - RM299 (free DECT phone for unlimited calls to all network)

I am an astro iptv for more than 3 years and now thinking of downgrade to satellite so that I can move on to unifi at 100Mbps for RM239

Astro iptv isp only gives max 30Mbps at RM248 per month.

Thanks for further clarification.
I had several calls in the last 2 yearsfor this... caller always identify as "maxis".
And every time, i end up telling him to come back with a lower price. biggrin.gif

Been with unifi for many years now, satisfied.
No need astro anymore with android box.
Only waiting for unifi 100mbps promo offer at close to rm200.
If not, i stick to 50mbps, actually good enough for my home needs.

Next time please don't use confusing words
Mula mula cakap existing, then later cakap previously

Astro uses Maxis internet which rides on TM backbone, that's the only reason TM was there

Astro IPTV is never offered with UniFi connection
The people who called you was just twisting words making some gullible users think they will still be on their UniFi connection

What you got was a move to Astro IPTV, nothing to do with UniFi at all
