Rubbing alcohol aka 99% alcohol is ok on most lens coating. Only soft coatings will be affected. And afaik, all if not most modern dslr lenses uses hard coating.
Just don't do it with force or too frequently. Else the abrasion may damage it. Also don't regular tissue or reuse the lens cloth too many times.

I know that Nikon service centre uses rubbing alcohol sparingly to clean lens as well.
