Based on the photos you posted, it isn't clearly visible as to what you mean by "bright black".

By default, the Pixel 2's AMOLED screen should display blacks as deep blacks (since the pixels are being switched off). I suggest that you do the following to test if your AMOLED screen is indeed defective:

1) Download Display Tester from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...laytester&hl=en

2) Use a plain black wallpaper for both lock screen and home screen and inspect if you have any light bleed/

If you notice any black smear/crush or light bleeds, i suggest you return your Pixel 2 for RMA.
