I saw in garage sales, mobile2go has pixel 2 ready stock at 3499.
Anyone has experience buying from them?

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Dec 7 2017, 07:57 PM) Sideloaded new factory image without wiping. Everything feels functionally the same lol. But Pixel 2 has been exposed to 8.1 features during 8.0 anyway since it is a custom build for pixels, not through AOSP. How did you make "adb devices" detect the phone in recovery mode?Non pixels will see 8.1 features when they upgrade from 8.0 Update: it really does feel like a December security patch I can't get it detect the phone in recovery mode. It detect just fine in phone normal mode and fastboot mode (fastboot devices) I've tried to plug-unplug the cable in recovery mode but no result. The adb is the latest version 27. |

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Dec 8 2017, 11:22 AM) Try to authenticate the phone first when it is booted. 1. I'm using adb v27. Should be the latest.1. Use latest platform tools from google. The latest one only contains specific parts for Pixel 2s 2. Connect adb when phone is booted by running 'adb devices'. If returns result, all good. If no result, change connection mode from charging to MTP. Phone should prompt to authenticate PC. Click on phone to accept that authentication. 3. Run adb reboot recovery or adb reboot bootloader then go recovery 4. Phone will now be in recovery mode. Proceed to flash 5. Profit I think need to be careful bout these kind of post. Got people reporting as informed by OP. 2. adb devices return the device is detected when the phone is booted and authenticate correctly. 3. I run adb reboot bootloader. In this mode, when I run fastboot devices, it also give the device is detected. (Windows Device Manager shows there is device there too) 4. When change the mode to recovery by using volume button, Android ADB Interface will dissapear. adb devices also return no result. Is there anything wrong discussing this matter? It is not something illegal, even posted in google ota download page. |

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Dec 8 2017, 12:21 PM) Easier way, load the OTA inside phone. Go into recovery then apply update via recovery as the zip is already in your device. I did that too. No success. I copied ota.zip to the root of the storage folder. Tried to long press volume down button also not initiate update process.Btw check back my original post. When u quote it truncate out my quoting I guess I just have to wait the ota in normal way. I've read they are going to fix this ota issue early next year |

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Dec 8 2017, 02:24 PM) No I mean the error when trying to execute the OTA zip from recovery as u already transferred the into internal SD Finally, I found the most important step that I missed.I have to hold power button and press volume up button during recovery mode splash screen. Anyway, thanks for taking your time to reply my post. |

I tried to switch off group notifications from "Setting > Apps & Notification > WhatsApp > App Notifications". After a while it auto switch on again.
I don't know whether this problem is specific to pixel 2 only or whatsapp apps. My phone is stock, no root, no bootloader unlocked. Does anyone else having this issues? |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Feb 14 2018, 11:33 AM) Mine too. Lol Suddenly group messages pop out non stop. Although I've set them to no notifications for 1 year. But only happen once. QUOTE(Someonesim @ Feb 14 2018, 11:44 AM) Found the workaround for now.Changing the notification Importance setting from Urgent (default) to High/Medium/Low would at least prevent msg pop-out from status bar. |
