Go with iphone X it is the best among the 2 for now that if you can get through the pricing....  Pixel 2 XL got a sort of issue and buying them is just a gamble with higher risk while Mix 2 just mediocre phone with mediocre camera

Frankly speaking, after using the pixel 2 xl switching more those expendable storage MicroSD card phone, i do miss the convenience of having those expendable storage from time to time especially with pixel 2 xl on 64GB....but i still like the pixel phone...i wish google would introduce expendable storage as secondary option for near future instead of forcing user to used their google cloud thing

No matter how big the storage it gets.... Ppl will not be satisfied...but having 64GB variant having me going back to constantly checking my storage of phobia having full storage...

But seriously, google should consider what happen if suddenly your storage is full and there is no internet line available at least a secondary option of storage would be nice....

The basic stuff that i used everday.... Banking Apps, Social Apps, Buying stuff Apps, Navigation apps, Grab and Uber Apps, Show / movie streaming apps, Parcel Tracking apps, go files and commander file explorer....im already 21% to my storage with minimal picture in the storage (not more then 20)
