I am currently on streamyx 8gb for RM160. Now there is streamyx 8gb for RM140. How do I change to this new plan? Do I have to go to TM office to terminate my current plan and start the new plan? Do I get the freebies (free modem, HyppTV, etc) advertised for this new plans. My current contract has ended many years ago.

Since your contract ended, you may terminate your current subscription without paying any penalty and subscribe to new plan for better price.
I would suggest to take unifi instead of streamyx if your place support.

Thanks guys for your help. I would definitely subscribe to Unifi but unfortunately my place don't have Unifi.

If I terminate and subscribed to a new streamyx 8mbps plan @ RM140 do I get the freebies modem, HyppTV and ID Wifi? Note: under the old contract I got these freebies already 3-4 years ago. This is better than asking for a special discount of RM20 and continue the old contract, as there will be no freebies, right?

Would appreciate your advice again for the best option.

Yes, you’ll get the new equipment as well. But as for me, that’s not worth at all to extend the contract just to get the new so called rubbish freebies. Remember, you also need to pay rm140+rm140+rm88+rm10 on your first bill and not to mention, rm35-50 installation costs to contractor and 2 years contract. Streamyx user got nothing from tm. They treated streamyx like their stepson and you still want to extend another 2 years contract with them? Think deeply first bro. Another thing, cooling period of 1 month if you still insist to use your name to register the new line. sad.gif

Thank you for your explanation. Ya, I think you are right in not terminating the old contract and start a new contract based on your analysis. Following your advice, I'd rather ask for a discount of RM20 and continue the old contract without the freebies while waiting for Unifi to be installed in my area. Then I will ditch the streamyx contract.

hahaha unifi all packages: add rm10 get 30mb, add rm10 get 50mb, add rm10 get 100mb.

8mb streamyx suppose get rm89 but now rm140 hahaha

Ya loh, streamyx sucks!

I'm sure there are a lot of old streamyx customers out there who are not aware of claiming the RM20 discount. Some more, we have to go personally to TM outlet to get our IC and thumb print like some outlaws just to claim RM20 discount of what, by right, they could have given the discount automatically on billing on an already exorbitant price of RM140.

If one is not aware of this discount (like I was), then TM already tipu its customers by keeping quiet and milking them for as long as possible. I have been an old streamyx customer for over 20 years and yet TM takes the old customers for granted and treats them like shit!

This is the problem we customers faced when our Government protects their cronies by giving them monopolistic/oligopolistic protection.

If there could just be another viable alternative, I would have no hesitation of dropping TM like a pile of shit!

Hi,
I am a 8mbps streamyx combo@RM160 user with RM30 discount for platinum hyyptv pack, my 2 years contract has end already, and
I am planning to subscribe to cheaper streamyx 8mbps@140 package (free hyyptv basic channel only)
(no luck my area don't have unifi yet ) , the question is
how much I need to pay for the first bill ? any upfront or activate fee need to pay
what about installation fee  ?
I need all your advice, Thanks.

It's easier to ask RM20 special discount from TM service centre, no installation fee and other fess/charges or interruption. Contract and phone no remains as before. You won't be bound for another two years on new contract in case Unifi or Time fibre broadband come out in less than 2 years. This is what I did

I have just terminated my streamyx after being a loyal customer for over 10 years.

I have joined the Digi i150 bandwagon after having given TM chance after chance to come up with a fair and attractive package. But alas no...If you are a loyal customer they take you for granted and treat you like shit.

With Digi I am able to get 40-50 mbps which is way off better than streamyx at about the same price. My only regret is not to switch over sooner.

If they have any attractive package in future then I may consider to hop back as a new customer. They will treat new customers like king and may even give away attractive gifts and discounts.

Being loyal to TM is to be on the losing end. September is my final cut-off date...bye bye TM.

I was once a 8mbps streamyx subscriber. I used to check Lowyat forums daily to see whether other streamyx subscribers have been upgraded and feeling frustrated.

Instead of waiting for an uncertain streamyx upgrade which will still cost around the region of RM140 per month, I made the hard decision of giving up TM and went for Digi i150. It was only RM10 extra per month but I was able to get 130 mbps.

I was happy that I ditched TM and never looked back since. It was like one huge burden lifted off my shoulder. If one day TM gives a better deal, I will hop back again.

Why continuing waiting for a bride who has yet to deliver and who only knows how to enrich herself from you all these years?
