4Mbps or 8Mbps in current day?
Are you all planning only to read static web pages and stream under 360p videos?
Might as well wait for Unifi Air next month or so which promises speeds like over 20M or so. Copper telephone is good as dead especially for landed homes. If you're living in high rise apartments or flats you still got hope with Gigawire or VDSL/G.Fast for short loops that connect to fibre switches/gigabit microwave receivers on the rooftop.
Locking yourself down with TM for another 2 years with such slow speeds will make you regret even more just to save a few bucks.

QUOTE(josh5671 @ Jul 28 2019, 10:03 PM) serious or troll tm?...8m suit a lot normal usage. 8M can smoothly play 1080p video on YT. thats what all normal user needed. yes, extra speed are welcome, but if infrastructure not allow then 8m with super low price are pleased too. 8M suitable for current day usage? You must be joking summore only 512kbps upload speed. 8M is very high expectation for TM rotting ancient copper network. You're not going to get any near that for many areas unless you're on some newer roadside MSAN cabinet switch.Even if you're so you'll be eligible for landed VDSL2 (long distance) already. Pure assumption that people will get full 8M with their ancient copper telephone network. It's due for retirement.

QUOTE(khreve @ Aug 18 2019, 11:54 PM) TM always no available PORT.... does TM need use to buy the PORT ourself too??? I wished MCMC will take action on this no PORT(even has Unifi coverage) issue seriously. Here's another hint how they evaluate to expand ports in your area: If your neighbours utilizing the ports fully at the fibre distribution box(FDB) on top of the tiang nearest to your home, all use other ISPs such as Maxis, or Celcom more than their Unifi they'll be less reluctant to provide new ports for you and expand. Very dirty tactic indeed.

Now with Astro IPTV, Celcom and Maxis entering the HSBB TM fears that if they provide ports in your place, people will subscribe to their competitors instead. That's why we need a neutral wholesale dark fibre provider such as TNB or SACOFA to do this job.
