QUOTE(powerwoot @ Oct 17 2017, 09:16 PM) Go to tm point and ask for discount. I managed to get the rm20 discount + free aneka pack for my 8mbps. Rm20 discount for a lifetime but free aneka pack for 1 year only (but who care, My stb are staying safely in their orange box for 4 years now). Currently i’m paying rm148.50 something after gst. Still expensive than unifi lite SUBB but I’ve got no choice and perhaps I should be grateful at least I got 8mbps, those who stuck with rm110 1mbps much more ‘kesian’ than me. According to Tm SUBB are expected to be implement at my area sometime in 2019-2020. |

It'll be good enough to receive that kind of upload speed. 20Mbps, 30Mbps, 50Mbps, 100Mbps and future 200-300Mbps doesn't exist in my area 'dictionary' |

Look around the huge TM cabinet labelled as VB 5xxxx or VC 5xxxx then your area should falls under SUBB. Alternatively, you may check the unifi lite coverage via unifi.com.my |

QUOTE(fixgd @ Oct 21 2017, 09:31 AM) hmm. if i have unifi coverage, might as well get unifi lite? or this is a temporary solution to upgrade your connection due to port limitation (full)? Well, unifi and unifi lite are exactly the same product. If your area falls under hsbb/hsbb2 (fiber to the home) then you shoule be able to subscribe unifi lite in addition to unifi advance (30/50) and pro (100). It’s all depends on your pocket and usage. If you think 10mbps down and 5mbps up should be enough for your usage and you simply don’t bother with all those hypptv etc etc, then unifi lite should be fine. It might be true as well those who are under ftth to reserve and test the connection first by taking cheaper unifi lite instead of going straightly to advance and pro. |

Streamyx package will now be referred to as ‘Broadband’, while its subscribers are known as pre-unifi customers.

The technician should come to your house to configure for the connection, and bring with him the set up box. Assuming your package include hypp tv. Btw 140 is what they been offering new subscriber to 8mbps for few months ago. |

Yes, I got 2 streamyx account. The technician should come to your house to configure for the connection, and bring with him the set up box. Assuming your package include hypp tv. Btw 140 is what they been offering new subscriber to 8mbps for few months ago. First account is 1mbps RM68 already upgrade to 2mbps with same amount (This account is applied during jom jimat period) Second account is 4mbps RM140 (this account is applied during blockbuster deal period) and planning to change package to same 4Mbps compulsory take min Voice Deal 38 with total RM126 monthly (Free tablet for Sukan Sea 2017). But kinda a mess and confusing communication from TM side. Call center they told me promotions until 31 Oct 2017 (For free tablet), but TM point johor mentioned no more already. Due to this, I planning to terminate my second account 4mbps because no point paying so high (somemore almost 5 years still no unifi coverage) since you can't give me the free tablet Sukan Sea 2017 plan. Then TM point offer me upgrade to 8mbps from 4mbps but still same cost of RM140/mth. I accepted the conditions since it is the same mth expenses but just free upgrade speed. But when I reach home, I realize that forget to ask regarding streamyx 8mbps got additional Hypptv set Box with Hypptv service. If the technician come to my house with bring along the set up box, got any charges of "technical fees"? I see from other thread some people say got charges (prefer I walk in TM Point johor again to get set up box), however some people say don't have charges. In simple, ridiculous mess and confuse communication tm point and call center. No idea about this have proper procedure or not. |

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Nov 4 2017, 02:06 PM) End up they did not upgrade to 8mbps, still at 4mbps. Well consider lucky since you not upgrade means no renew contract. You can apply the bonanza plan and terminate the old plan after got it.Somemore, report order no found. Does not explain for that. It seems like TMpoint staff there talk shiok sendiri nia. Ridiculous~ |

QUOTE(nuvi @ Nov 4 2017, 12:21 PM) You accepted the offer already? Can still cancel it? Got 2 years contract? Advance plus TM really like to screw it's customer. Just days before they release their bonanza plan, still want to offer upgrade which essentially is more expensive. How much your plan is? RM89 or the "oh shit! RM140!"? |

If you don't have any contracts on your Streamyx account, yet you want to enjoy latest, cheaper Streamyx plan prices, better you just terminate your Streamyx account including home phone. Once successfully terminated, you sign up as new customer, hence you can enjoy the newer cheaper Streamyx packages. Plus, you get new modem, new DECT phone, and other equipment, just like a new subscriber. If you simply just "upgrade", TM will malas layan you to give you new equipment.
However the downside is, you got to sacrifice your house phone number upon successful termination and you'll get new hse phone number for new sign ups. And to avoid account name conflict, it is better that you use different name upon signing up new Streamyx account. TM won't let existing Streamyx customers enjoy the new rates automatically, because if they do that, they know that this will only letting them lose money, lose profit. In TM's world, there's no such thing as loyalty to customers. |

QUOTE(gabanyayaya @ Nov 5 2017, 05:30 PM) bonanza only for 2 yrs period then back to normal price again....will it be worth for the upgrade ????? Do nothing, you'll get nothing.Apply new and terminate old, you'll save RM1440 - RM500 = RM960 in this 2 years. After 2 years you'll back the same like if you still use old plan. That time if got other promotion can repeat the same thing again. If not then maintain the same. Worth it or not, depends on individual. Do you feel worth the hassle to apply new plan then terminate old plan for RM960 in 2 years? terminated RM130 4m that used for so many years. using new phone number, waiting to restore back the the old number. right now my home got 2 of their TM model which im not using. tomorrow they will send me the hypptv box. Basically their job is pretty simple, they just come in, call to change update my port. give me the new account email and pw. take my RM30 and go. |

In dilemma whether or not to apply 8mbos bonaza, currently paying 138 for 4mbps plan which contract already end.....
and few months back there is some fiber pulling activity on the main road outside my taman area which until now there are no news strangely though when check for unifi coverage the TM live chat says that there is unifi infra in my taman but did not have unit number on their system... weird, afraid that after I apply the bonaza 8mbps then unifi suddenly available.... upgrading from streamyx to unifi will have penalty if under contract ? This post is first appeared on "Streamyx 4Mbps Club V6" https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=86949012
According to the T&C of this Streamyx Bonanza Campaign promotion (as of 7 Nov 2017), it lasts until 31 December 2017 only, meaning that you won't be able to enjoy this offer from 1 Jan 2018 onwards. But who knows, TM may extend promo period to anytime they like... Just like how TM keep on extending webe's RM79/month plan over and over again, saying that "promo last till ___, this is your last chance to grab this offer", bla bla bla... as if this is their tactic to attract customers to aware about the plans and to quickly subscribe to the new Streamyx plans. So guys, don't be skeptical until you think like "yer... i have to pay the original price from 25th month onwards, i don't wan liao... why this TM liddat one...." Ok let say now you take 8Mbps RM89/month plan, this is what will happen, according to the T&C of the Streamyx's promo now (7 Nov 2017).
Cannot tahan to pay that kind of money, feeling want to downgrade to cheapest 1Mbps plan? Or you choose not to do anything now and maintain your existing Streamyx 1Mbps plan? Fine.
Still, you eventually still saved a lot of money in the long run. Imagine how much money you've saved in this 2 years. I know many of you guys think "I want to enjoy this offer price forever." Duh, who doesn't want that? I want to enjoy that kind of offer also. But in this situation, you got to be grateful for how much you can save and enjoy as much as you can. And who knows TM introduces might new introduce affordable Streamyx plans again like this Bonaza promo after your 24 months contract ended? 2 years is a long way to go, and the things can change in this 2 years... Let say now, 2 years has passed, it's now 1 Jan 2020, what if TM being stingy and doesn't offer Streamyx promo back in end-2017 anymore? Either you downgrade back to whatever Streamyx speed/price plan that you used to enjoy/pay before you upgrade to the Streamyx plans back in 2 years ago (end-2017), OR go for Unifi if it's available in your area by then, OR find other internet plans solutions such as unlimited wireless broadband similar to the plans offered in 2017, like the Digi Infinite 150 plan or webe's RM79/month plan. Hope my advise somewhat helps you to decide a wise choice, for now. |

QUOTE(nuvi @ Nov 7 2017, 04:11 PM) If the news about tm stopping the bonanza program for streamyx is true, you no more dilemma anymore. Indeed...LOLQUOTE(skylinelover @ Nov 7 2017, 04:28 PM) Haha no surprise there, judging how they treat existing subscriber in the pastQUOTE(rhytion @ Nov 7 2017, 04:38 PM) I think it's possible, because Streamyx to UniFi is always considered as an upgrade, plus he's paying more every month, so why not? Agree about the possibility, since the TM live chat which I contacted yesterday kinda admit to me that I can only pay more that what I'm currently paying now, not less |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « TM point is only executing the promo/orders from their marketing department, no point for u to argue with their staff since they cant do taik even u flip their table. Better try get them to help u getting the best value package instead of hulk smash them since they're protected by the Mgmt. |

QUOTE(tuahayam @ Nov 7 2017, 05:04 PM) I have 4mb streamyx before this. Rm88 since 2009. Just cancel and apply new line. Get new modem, new wireless home phone nd free hypptv for 2 years. Tidak perlu bayar apa-apa for installer because they just change the port they said. Dont have to install new wiring. My friend managed to get Bonanza Package RM 88 for 4Mbps. TM.offer to just upgrade to rm89 for 8mb witout apply new number but i thinks rugi kerana tidk dapat telefon, modem baru. Installer came yesterday. But he didnt install Hypptv decoder. When he asked the installer, the installer said no Hypptv for 4Mbps customer. Only for 8Mbps. And he call nearby TM Point, the guy at Tm Point also said the same thing. |

QUOTE(tomastan4134 @ Nov 11 2017, 10:50 PM) if contract havent end ,. How? Streamyx penalty iinm is RM500normally 8mbps package contract is how long ? i forgot my contract is how long. Hypptv also got penalty. Not sure how much, but heard it based on how many month left for the contract times monthly commitment for it. Hypptv is like tm tools to suck money from it's subscriber. You're forced to subscribe to it, and you'll be penalised if you stop it before contract. |

QUOTE(softoperator @ Nov 14 2017, 12:54 PM) same, looking at my downstream already 10Mbps. Maybe can support? Yes... if Unifi Lite 10Mbps are listed out alongside streamyx package, obviously your area can support. You may proceed to subscribe to it.1) Call 100 (failed) 2) TMpoint (didn't go yet) 3) Live Coverage (Unifi Lite package listed alongside all streamyx) |

I am currently on streamyx 8gb for RM160. Now there is streamyx 8gb for RM140. How do I change to this new plan? Do I have to go to TM office to terminate my current plan and start the new plan? Do I get the freebies (free modem, HyppTV, etc) advertised for this new plans. My current contract has ended many years ago.

Since your contract ended, you may terminate your current subscription without paying any penalty and subscribe to new plan for better price.I would suggest to take unifi instead of streamyx if your place support. |

Give them your IC and thumbprint, and on your next bill you'll only need to pay RM140 (excluded GST). No renewal of contract though. Meanwhile, unifi users are getting much more than us. If I terminate and subscribed to a new streamyx 8mbps plan @ RM140 do I get the freebies modem, HyppTV and ID Wifi? Note: under the old contract I got these freebies already 3-4 years ago. This is better than asking for a special discount of RM20 and continue the old contract, as there will be no freebies, right? Would appreciate your advice again for the best option. |

But as for me, that’s not worth at all to extend the contract just to get the new so called rubbish freebies. Remember, you also need to pay rm140+rm140+rm88+rm10 on your first bill and not to mention, rm35-50 installation costs to contractor and 2 years contract. Streamyx user got nothing from tm. They treated streamyx like their stepson and you still want to extend another 2 years contract with them? Think deeply first bro. Another thing, cooling period of 1 month if you still insist to use your name to register the new line. If I terminate and subscribed to a new streamyx 8mbps plan @ RM140 do I get the freebies modem, HyppTV and ID Wifi? Note: under the old contract I got these freebies already 3-4 years ago. Ya, I think you are right in not terminating the old contract and start a new contract based on your analysis. Following your advice, I'd rather ask for a discount of RM20 and continue the old contract without the freebies while waiting for Unifi to be installed in my area. Then I will ditch the streamyx contract. |

Ya loh, streamyx sucks! 8mb streamyx suppose get rm89 but now rm140 hahaha I'm sure there are a lot of old streamyx customers out there who are not aware of claiming the RM20 discount. Some more, we have to go personally to TM outlet to get our IC and thumb print like some outlaws just to claim RM20 discount of what, by right, they could have given the discount automatically on billing on an already exorbitant price of RM140. If one is not aware of this discount (like I was), then TM already tipu its customers by keeping quiet and milking them for as long as possible. I have been an old streamyx customer for over 20 years and yet TM takes the old customers for granted and treats them like shit! This is the problem we customers faced when our Government protects their cronies by giving them monopolistic/oligopolistic protection. If there could just be another viable alternative, I would have no hesitation of dropping TM like a pile of shit! This post has been edited by sharp56: Nov 20 2017, 10:15 AM |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Nov 20 2017, 02:58 PM) If I upgrade to unifi, gone are the days of lightning strike that kills my modem through the telephone line? Because Unifi uses fibre cable (if your premise is a landed property, such as terrace house), most likely your modem/routers won't get fried due to thunder strike. Common saying, won't kena lightning strike la. So just turn it on 24/7, no problem. No more those "Oh I heard got thunderstorm, better power off my modem, or else my modem kena fried by lightning later." grandmother stories. Meanwhile for high rise building, TM uses existing telephone ports (copper) to provide Unifi service, uses VDSL2 technology instead of ADSL like Streamyx does. |

Hi,
I am a 8mbps streamyx combo@RM160 user with RM30 discount for platinum hyyptv pack, my 2 years contract has end already, and I am planning to subscribe to cheaper streamyx 8mbps@140 package (free hyyptv basic channel only) (no luck my area don't have unifi yet ) , the question is how much I need to pay for the first bill ? any upfront or activate fee need to pay what about installation fee ? I need all your advice, Thanks. |

QUOTE(moonlight321 @ Nov 22 2017, 08:15 PM) Hi, If not mistaken first bill they'll charge for 2 months.I am a 8mbps streamyx combo@RM160 user with RM30 discount for platinum hyyptv pack, my 2 years contract has end already, and I am planning to subscribe to cheaper streamyx 8mbps@140 package (free hyyptv basic channel only) (no luck my area don't have unifi yet ) , the question is how much I need to pay for the first bill ? any upfront or activate fee need to pay what about installation fee ? I need all your advice, Thanks. Installation maybe RM50 Not sure about activation fee. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Nov 20 2017, 10:35 PM) Because Unifi uses fibre cable (if your premise is a landed property, such as terrace house), most likely your modem/routers won't get fried due to thunder strike. Common saying, won't kena lightning strike la. So just turn it on 24/7, no problem. No more those "Oh I heard got thunderstorm, better power off my modem, or else my modem kena fried by lightning later." grandmother stories. many high rise also using fibre, and many landed also using vdsl...Meanwhile for high rise building, TM uses existing telephone ports (copper) to provide Unifi service, uses VDSL2 technology instead of ADSL like Streamyx does. Hei, anyone experience slowdown on video streaming? Youtube 1080p is ok, however any other video streaming including iflix is slow (also Kodi+real debrid), switching to DiGi is ok so doubt its because of the site/debrid.

Urgent, need help here.
Dear Senpais, so I'm about to apply for Streamyx 8mbps but I heard that TM will give you private IP. I NEED public IP to host LAN game and some other stuff so I'm really worried now. What if they give me a private one? Can I request them to change to public? Thanks for answering. |

Give them your IC and thumbprint, and on your next bill you'll only need to pay RM140 (excluded GST). No renewal of contract though. i got mine by calling 100after that i check with tm twitter, got 1 year contract. This post has been edited by CyrusWong: Jan 6 2018, 11:39 PM |

Even you’re currently using 8mbps now, it doesn’t guarantee that you will definitely able to subscribe for unifi lite 10mbps. What is your upload speed at speedtest? Is 0.11 - 0.20mbps normal? Download is around 8.5mbps.
I cannot stream youtube hd videos on my tv without any lags via wifi. Modem is currently upstairs. Signal is at min 70%. Is it due to few connected devices on the modem itself? This post has been edited by Savor_Savvy: Feb 19 2018, 02:20 PM |

It used to work for me before i get free upgrade to 8mbps and I get quite nice surfing experience with ipv6 |

Is some part of your area got fiber optic unifi already? If that so, your area falls under hsbb project. So, there’s no VC cabinet will be installed there. VC cabinet is for subb area only which still use the existing copper infra. You should receive ftth unifi in the future if not for the meantime. |

After that, few weeks later, i felt my download speed become faster then i log in to unifi acc again, BOM! i get free upgraded to 8mbps... |

Hi all,
want to check with you all, my streamyx 8mbps very not stable, the line very slow everyday, suddenly disconnected - wait awhile then can browse the internet again, is it modem issue? And can make complain? If change the modem, can fix the issue? Which modem is good and stable for streamyx 8mbps? |

QUOTE(waiwaisan @ Mar 7 2018, 04:50 PM) Hi all, I do noticed that streamyx public IP getting assigned to an existing user IP, meaning IP conflict.want to check with you all, my streamyx 8mbps very not stable, the line very slow everyday, suddenly disconnected - wait awhile then can browse the internet again, is it modem issue? And can make complain? If change the modem, can fix the issue? Which modem is good and stable for streamyx 8mbps? This is where the slowness comes in, ping to the conflict public IP will have loss packets and high ping. After turn off modem router while keep pinging the IP, the ping rate back to normal with no packet loss, this is how I discovered there is IP conflict. Why would TM do this, by assigning IP to another IP which is already in use? Are they running out of IPv4 addresses for streamyx? |

Just upgrade to streamyx 8M this week with Rm149 per month. Feel rugi because unif 10M only RM129. But no unifi in my area. Recently, buy jail break version xiaomi 4 TV box but regret d because dun have much National Geographic channel. Feel like to sell it for RM340. I bought at RM367. If someone interested, feel free to call me at 0127905089.

Active doing complaint at unifi over email or chat, then they give a 8mbps speed at rm88. After autodebit by CC,i pay 86.00/month. This charge is for lifetime under Govt broadband initiatives under last year budget.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Jun 8 2018, 11:13 PM) Streamyx is at the dead end, cannot go any further but still TM is happily collect the fee RM160+ every month for the old technology. True. This is totally ridiculous to charge RM160 for merely 8Mbps with outdated ADSL technology internet.I am not sure about rural area. Maybe they feel grateful for that. Speaking of city/town in Malaysia, we really deserve better price and good quality internet network. I asked for upgrade from my current 4Mbps to 8Mbps but need to pay RM160 per month whereas many agents outside still offering RM140 per month for subscribing as a new 8Mbps user. This is nonsense and ridiculous. They never care to listen to feedback. They never extend or setup new UNIFI coverage for many areas in big city. Yet they offer attractive price for multiple times of better connection speed at almost the same price for Streamyx. We as the existing Streamyx customers with no choice to go better at all. Ask for 8Mbps yet still need to top up extra of RM20 per month. Charging us so high with low connection speed. It's like fooling us. TM monopolizes almost the whole home broadband market in Malaysia and i really pray so hard for our current new government to actually press them to offer better package to the people. QUOTE(genzi0401 @ Jun 29 2018, 06:13 PM) True. This is totally ridiculous to charge RM160 for merely 8Mbps with outdated ADSL technology internet. I am staying at the rural area, my request to get the cheaper monthly fee had been rejected. I am not very sure as some is getting rm140 and the rest is still like myself. Few poles from my place already enjoying SUBB, again my request to get the unifi lite rm129 rejected as well. They said not enough applicants, but at taman nearby TM just upgrade the infra even without enough request. As long I am in kampung house and not in taman, streamyx at higher price to stay. I am pissed the TM people insisted me to get unifi mobile instead, last time webe.I am not sure about rural area. Maybe they feel grateful for that. |

Look at this map on another TM streamyx unfair thread and you will see how TM 'plan' their fiber internet infra.https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=89299755 It's laughable but so sad at the same time. |

"Why is Telekom Malaysia punishing users who can’t get the 10Mbps plan at their home? Even in existing Unifi coverage areas, customers who wants Unifi can’t get it because there isn’t any “ports” available – thanks to TM’s foolish way of deploying the Unifi service. These customers have no choice but to get Streamyx and pay a higher price, for slower speed."

QUOTE(JonSpark @ Jul 13 2018, 08:56 PM) Me too actually, also hope for the price decrease. Its like a god sent for rural area without good 3G or 4G for alternative when their first introduce 4 and later 8Mbps for Streamyx. But to charge RM110/Mbps in 2018 on normal DSL service in rather small and normal geographical country is really ridiculous. Upon successful Unifi 100Mbps upgrade to 800Mbps later on 15 August, the price difference that Streamyx 1Mbps subscribers pay will be 400 times higher per Mbps compare to what Unifi 800Mbps price (RM189). |

Most of the streamyx users in non+unifi coverage, getting 2x speed is dreaming aja lah, leave alone price reduction. What speed we have now, what price we pay now, it will be that forever.

SUBB is something I feel not really achieved, as far as I see in my place, only houses by the main roadside are covered but not even extend to any secondary road even they are connected to, not even a pole. SUBB is actually a RSBB, the road side broadband.

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Jul 18 2018, 11:44 PM) Here's on of the statement, this article came from LYN and there are another from Malaysian Wireless as well from kacang soya.https://www.lowyat.net/2018/166010/streamyx-unifi-upgrades/ They called streamyx as pre-unifi, but in TM's website no pre-unifi except as broadband. I got a feel that most of streamyx users that is look eligible, they will be offered wireless broadband instead of the fixed line. The same store goes to those applying for Unifi Basic unless all these area covered by unifi network. |

QUOTE(pokchik @ Jul 18 2018, 04:54 PM) not watching is totally different than not paying. Bruddah... my house 4mbps free upgrade to 8mbps last time, and every month pay rm148 just like b4 use 4mbps eh timeat least that's what i learned - the hard way. i found out that i've been paying for hypptv, although i'm not using it. heck, i didn't even gotten the hypptv STB during my years with streamyx. after doing my own research in this forum, i found out that i'm paying unnecessary stuff. my old streamyx registration was called Streamyx 8.0M Blockbuster Combo HyppTV Bundle RM160. after i found out that i'm 'donating' unnecessarily to TM, i went to TM Point & asked them if i can cancel my hypptv subscription and get RM20 discount. the staff checked, and said well yes - i was already out of contract and they give me -RM20 discount every month afterwards till i upgraded to unifi. RM160 - RM20 = RM140. but i checked the bill and it include rm20 inside for hypptv complimentary pack. actually saw it long time ago but provided that overall total is price of 4mbps so i just no care abt it i last time told my dad go ask see can waive or not, he say no dare ltr they waive le then make us need to pay 8mbps eh price pulak :3 how u think bro.. should i go ask see can waive ke? i hv no plan to use the stb... tv aldy connected to a HTPC * i didn't hv the stb This post has been edited by lee.wp14: Jul 20 2018, 12:07 AM |

The new pricing for streamyx 8mbps is rm100, but only for new registration. Limited time promotion. TM mmg betul2 mainkan pengguna streamyx.

sharing to share with all bro. i am streamyx user of 4m.
today i went to tm sales asking auto free upgrade. totally disappointed. the answer is UNKNOWN ( ask you wait only ) , cant blame the staffs they follow SOP. every visit TM , surely seeing consumer making all noise , shout and angry.... i did ask below q n a ( by tm staffs ) Q : auto free upgrade when , A : wait aug and see Q : may i upgrade to 8m or unifi ? A : wait aug and see Q : why new streamyx deal is cheaper than me , can i get the same rate ? A : NOT , for new user what i feel...new applicants tm welcome , regarding the Free upgrade or any just WAIT AND SEE. i expect , if we got the free upgrade , i guess we may Q to 1 - 2 years ???? since TM is slow in action for free stuffs. during the waiting , r we still paying the same and old rate ? or will TM rebate back the delay ? ( hope MCMC make a law for it ) only hope is MCMC , we cant do anything , they are giant , we are small fish ? any comments , welcome This post has been edited by mycrystal88: Jul 23 2018, 03:10 AM |

Go to gobind and TM's twitter account, try to tag whatever things we streamyx users not satisfied with. Ask them if they unable to do speed upgrade, give us price reduction. This is what they promised and we want that to be fulfilled. I got a feeling, if we the streamyx users want speed upgrade, the most they can offer now is unifi mobile. Heard that from someone of TM told me.

True, if gov intervene and insisted that TM must reduce the price for streamyx, they have to follow. But I don't think it will come into reality. TM's profit at some point goes to gov at the end and they have to put half blind into this.

The best is they upgrade you to UNIFI lite at or about the same price you're paying for Streamyx now; or 2. Second best, they increase your Streamyx speed to 2x what it is currently at the same price. If you're already on 4mbps, then sorry... 3. Third, you don't qualify for any upgrade. Wait till 15 Aug to see which option you get... HOPEFULLY. |

I checked my building finally got 8Mbps streamyx after escalation done to MCMC.
I have been Digi Infinite (max speed during peak sometimes 4-5Mbps) and Unifi Mobile Bebas unlimited. Thinking to joining back the shitmix side. what is the promo now for new signup? Is it still Rm140? |

I saw TM ppl and their team is doing some maintenance at the TM cabinet in my area. Stop by and asked them, they told me that streamyx in the mid of upgrading and the new download shall be from 10mbps up to 20mbps or even 30mbps depending on the quality of the lines. They however didn't mention the upload speed nor the new plans for streamyx as it will be subjected to hq decision. They showed me the new cards that to be upgrade replacing the old one.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Sep 18 2018, 04:12 PM) Most probably up to VDSL I guess, as the over head cable connected to my house is still on copper unless they pulled the fiber up to my pole db box. i'd say that is good enough.it's just that TM never promote the SUBB/VDSL option, thus the price options are rarely seen. |

Ya.. clearly they upgrade the 'card' inside the cabinet from ADSL to VDSL thus you can subscribe for Unifi Lite 10Mbps.In the future we don't know maybe they will launch another package targeted to SUBB utilising the existing copper line. I was told by TM technician, it's limited for those line distance from cabinet to their home around 2KM. If the distance more than that, it falls back to streamyx 8mbps Well, even it's still in the early stage of implementation, you should be grateful because at least something progressed at your area. You might soon enjoyed the upload speed of 5Mbps, which will give huge different from 512Kbps upload of streamyx. Mine? They told me to wait for next year project ONLY if project approved and have funds to proceed which I doubt too. There's still no sign of FDC will be installed in near future for my area ![]() Some more, for MSAN either. They upgraded 90% of the cabinet and it's all complete (ASB), including the rural cabinet here thus they would able to subscribe for Unifi Lite, and they skipped 4 cabinet at the middle of town and one of them situated at my housing area. |

Some little update here, the contractor already completed (or halfway) their job this evening. From my current router modem D-Link 2730e, the port setting is still the same at 10230 and 637, but I see annexM showing beside the G992.5. Previously only G992.5 appeared. Some speedtest to any local server I am getting consistently more than 9mbps (previously only around between 7 to 8mbps) for download and upload still the same around 500kbps and more considering my upload port capped at 512kbps.

8mbps really are doomed. I think waiting for unifi is the only way upgrade for us. Paying rm160 is just overkill from TM. And there no ETA for unifi arrival.

I am staying in kampung house, but few poles away there are SUBB serving houses at mainroad side and HSBB at the taman area. By looking at the cables I don't think TM will pull new fibre cables to any secondary road where I am staying now. I am suspect the upgrade is more to provide capacity for those SUBB and HSBB as I can see the agents started to hang the bunting the 100mbps promotion. Last time it was 30mbps only.E.g. my taman’s unifi finished all the works early March, But the testing and system update dragged all the way until mid May to finally be able to register and visible in the system. 2.5mths. |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Sep 21 2018, 01:34 PM) Your area doesn't have unifi coverage? I saw your address in Petaling Jaya which should be Unifi area. Or maybe port full My area have unifi and maxis. By that time i need the cheapest cost, because my house already have telephone line but long time not activated because old owner terminate telephone line. Old owner doesn't applied any internet line, only telephone line that using tm. So, that time i only need new line installed for streamyx. For unifi and maxis had expensive price and will be too costing for me to install during that era. TM technical just installed new wire from outside only but i was charged only RM70. By the way, I was charged that price because problematic to install new wire at back of my house, a bit danger for him to install its. Because the neighbours nearby around my house had already block that tiang TM, the awning and their roof. So, a tiny a thin man only can enter that tiang. I also helped him during that installation, otherwise he will not installed it. If want to install a fiber from outside they need to take another tiang that longer way, i had apply its two times for unifi lite 2 days before, first team already look, want to install first tiang that had blocked by the neighbours but afraid if anything accident happen to them. Yup, too dangerous, they can install it but they need proof of pictures that already installed from outside to give to management. This one of procedure for them to make commission, if the installation approve by management then they will get if not approve then this technical team will got negative rating and they don't get anything. For second technical team after second tried, this team need to install by using another tiang that longer way. They explain to me, if want to proceed they will charged RM170 for installation, they mention the fiber easily broken if not proper way installation so, if anything happen just called their office to get done if fiber wire broken again. So, i cancel it, just use this streamyx. By the way, the first technical team that installed my streamyx quite friendly and much helped. I ask anything about the unifi, he explain to me more details. Too bad, during that time i'm out of budget to apply a fiber plan.. |

QUOTE(misspinky @ Sep 21 2018, 03:54 PM) I need to see what next plan from TM on these two months..if no news, i change to maxis. I'm happy what mr gobind done for these internet things at least much better than nothing. 8mbps in non unifi area already reached the edge? I wonder what kind of patience needed from most of the 8ers here still paying the full rm160+ a month.

No price drop and fiber coverage expansion mentioned in the article. Clearly they wish to maintain the ARPU for streamyx user because they know, most of their revenue came from streamyx, which overcharged so much especially those who stuck with 1Mbps that paid RM110 for it!

Here hoping Gobind won’t bow down to TM reasoning. If no price drop for streamyx, gov can slap them with incompetency and not fulfilling their vision of making internet fibre accessible. In return, gov can ask for a return of their HSBB and SUBB investment in the form of poles or manhole only. Fibre line, optic hardware TM can keep it. And each city council can lease their pole access to ISP. The reason why not many ISP want to use TM backbone is due to their inability to control the maintenance and quality if broke(except Maxis). With this,ISP will race each other for last mile potential customers.

This evening some TM contractor workers climbed the pole just in front of my house, testing something from the distribution box. They told me that most of lines connected to the cabinet upgraded to at least 10mbps, I am guessing it is SUBB. They printed a new number onto the pole and the box. It is now VC5003/29 replacing the old number used last time 003/29.

I have just terminated my streamyx after being a loyal customer for over 10 years.
I have joined the Digi i150 bandwagon after having given TM chance after chance to come up with a fair and attractive package. But alas no...If you are a loyal customer they take you for granted and treat you like shit. With Digi I am able to get 40-50 mbps which is way off better than streamyx at about the same price. My only regret is not to switch over sooner. If they have any attractive package in future then I may consider to hop back as a new customer. They will treat new customers like king and may even give away attractive gifts and discounts. Being loyal to TM is to be on the losing end. September is my final cut-off date...bye bye TM. |

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Sep 24 2018, 12:41 PM) standard TM bait.. like saying 'you're getting Turbo-ed!! ..but don't know yet when, probably by June next year. but only if our infra allows it. and if you pay your bills on time. but if you can be patient, just wait for a while since even without Unifi FTTH, they're upgrading some Streamyx exchange cabinets which could provide VDSL2 with 10,30,30Mbps (some claim 50-100) This post has been edited by pokchik: Sep 24 2018, 12:57 PM |

Just another day being internet consumers in Malaysia. Just pure shit and piss from TM with love to streamyx user. Even pressure from new government seems a bit deafening for TM. At this point even if Ghandi as menteri komunikasi dan multimedia, Tm won’t drop streamyx price.

TM called me twice regarding the service quality and unifi upgrading. First call, they ask whether I want to upgrade since unifi is expanding to my housing area. 2nd call, I can upgrade when the unifi upgrading is complete. I ask when, they answered when the upgrading is complete, in two months time.

Currently, the Live Chat start on 114 in queue.
I can say it is the most "famous" service provider in nationwide.. After turn to you in queue, communication error and straight away Live Chat disconnect. Then again queue start on 106 in queue. Really a Tong Sampah.. |

QUOTE(kakisemut @ Sep 24 2018, 02:47 PM) Unifi Lite can be SUBB (i.e. they use your existing copper phone line) but with limited speed, i.e. 10-30 (sometimes 50-100) depending on copper cable quality and also TM exchange cabinet network cards. save that picture and follow-up with TM if nothing changes by 15th of December 2018. |

lol, you all streamyx last time didn't keep on submit MCMC report to complain no unifi coverage. Everyday just sit in home and keep waiting without motivation. That's why until now are still using streamyx.
See I'm Sabahan here. Both my houses in KK and Sandakan already got unifi. Last time I was keep writing complain letter to MCMC. It is not that hard, just like writing a composition. Just tell them your story only. After several months of new PH government, then finally my Sandakan home got upgraded to Unifi. |

Imagine paying 139 for 8mbps! Tm point told me this To terminate must pay rm 160 multiply by the number of months left. Almost pensan on hearing this. I got 5 months left so it is 5 x160 =800 It that true? Tm net sucks 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿 |

Facing the degradation of quality since TM 'upgrade' the cabinet where I am connected to now. First my ping shot to between 40 to 50, previously around 20 and below. SNR dropped significantly under 10 from almost 30 previously. Complaint, and they reduced my port to 9303 from 10239 previously. They said my speed is still achieved around 7 to 8mbps despite the lower set up by them. Streamyx is really a sheet now.

Anyway, have you try to check whether your house address got unifi lite now? Even same price of rm129 as of 100mbps, I think that should be much cheaper than what you’re currently paying rm160 for 8mbps. |

If miloais tool site stated that the max supported speed is 10mbps and your area falls under SUBB, most probably you would be able to subscribe for Unifi Lite already. Tmpoint and some agents still carry out the unifi lite, but yeah rm129 lah per month which you can get 100mbps with that price |
