Go to tm point and ask for discount. I managed to get the rm20 discount + free aneka pack for my 8mbps. Rm20 discount for a lifetime but free aneka pack for 1 year only (but who care, My stb are staying safely in their orange box for 4 years now). Currently i’m paying rm148.50 something after gst. Still expensive than unifi lite SUBB but I’ve got no choice and perhaps I should be grateful at least I got 8mbps, those who stuck with rm110 1mbps much more ‘kesian’ than me. According to Tm SUBB are expected to be implement at my area sometime in 2019-2020.

haha I been jumping 1mbps 2mbps 4mbps 4 the past 15 years no chance with 8mbps sadly but eventually hit the elite of all elite status 50mbps I think that's it as I wont be jumping 100mbps 4 the next 15 years

For my case, I can confirmed that the contract hasn't been renewed.

I'm much more unfortunate, SUBB (Sub Urban Broadband) only allowed me to jump up to 10Mbps (for the time being) only but with HUGE IMPROVEMENT in terms of upload Speed at 5Mbps compared to my current 512Kbps upload. It'll be good enough to receive that kind of upload speed. 20Mbps, 30Mbps, 50Mbps, 100Mbps and future 200-300Mbps doesn't exist in my area 'dictionary'

G.Fast technology (>100 Mbps over copper network) will replace VDSL in next decade!

how do we confirm that our area is under SUBB? currently my 8mb package still having upload speed of 512kbps. to get 10mb download and 5mb upload will be a good improvement for my house.

Look around the huge TM cabinet labelled as VB 5xxxx or VC 5xxxx then your area should falls under SUBB. Alternatively, you may check the unifi lite coverage via unifi.com.my

hmm. if i have unifi coverage, might as well get unifi lite? or this is a temporary solution to upgrade your connection due to port limitation (full)?

Well, unifi and unifi lite are exactly the same product. If your area falls under hsbb/hsbb2 (fiber to the home) then you shoule be able to subscribe unifi lite in addition to unifi advance (30/50) and pro (100). It’s all depends on your pocket and usage. If you think 10mbps down and 5mbps up should be enough for your usage and you simply don’t bother with all those hypptv etc etc, then unifi lite should be fine. It might be true as well those who are under ftth to reserve and test the connection first by taking cheaper unifi lite instead of going straightly to advance and pro.

Hey guy, I just get an offer and free upgrade to 8mbps with same price mth (previously is 4mbps with RM140/mth excl GST).

So in this case, I will get the Hypp TV set up box, am I right?
How to get it? Is it they will courier service delivery to the doorstep?

Someone also mention about getting free upgrade to 8mbps from 4mbps, but he's one is the promotion RM88. I guess TM really is upgrading streamyx users.

The technician should come to your house to configure for the connection, and bring with him the set up box. Assuming your package include hypp tv.

Btw 140 is what they been offering new subscriber to 8mbps for few months ago.

Yes, I got 2 streamyx account.

First account is 1mbps RM68 already upgrade to 2mbps with same amount (This account is applied during jom jimat period)
Second account is 4mbps RM140 (this account is applied during blockbuster deal period) and planning to change package to same 4Mbps compulsory take min Voice Deal 38 with total RM126 monthly (Free tablet for Sukan Sea 2017). But kinda a mess and confusing communication from TM side. Call center they told me promotions until 31 Oct 2017 (For free tablet), but TM point johor mentioned no more already.

Due to this, I planning to terminate my second account 4mbps because no point paying so high (somemore almost 5 years still no unifi coverage) since you can't give me the free tablet Sukan Sea 2017 plan.

Then TM point offer me upgrade to 8mbps from 4mbps but still same cost of RM140/mth. I accepted the conditions since it is the same mth expenses but just free upgrade speed. But when I reach home, I realize that forget to ask regarding streamyx 8mbps got additional Hypptv set Box with Hypptv service.

If the technician come to my house with bring along the set up box, got any charges of "technical fees"? I see from other thread some people say got charges (prefer I walk in TM Point johor again to get set up box), however some people say don't have charges.

In simple, ridiculous mess and confuse communication tm point and call center.
No idea about this have proper procedure or not.

Streamyx package and pricing is really messy, some get it at such price while others can get cheaper. Then there's some additional discount pricing.

IINM no other charge if everything is just plug and play. The set top box is using wifi so it can be installed anywhere as long as wifi got signal. If you want to do additional stuff then they'll charge.

Anyone whether existing 8Mbps subscriber automatically reduce to RM89?

Well consider lucky since you not upgrade means no renew contract. You can apply the bonanza plan and terminate the old plan after got it.

Got ask them to consider changing your plan to bonanza since you just got it last week? Or subscribe the bonanza plan and terminate the current plan? Difference of RM1440 for 2 years is more than enough to pay for the penalty.

In the long term, you lost.
For 2 years period using Unifi. You win.

So, if you use more than 5-10 years more. Nothing different anyway...

If you don't have any contracts on your Streamyx account, yet you want to enjoy latest, cheaper Streamyx plan prices, better you just terminate your Streamyx account including home phone. Once successfully terminated, you sign up as new customer, hence you can enjoy the newer cheaper Streamyx packages. Plus, you get new modem, new DECT phone, and other equipment, just like a new subscriber. If you simply just "upgrade", TM will malas layan you to give you new equipment.

However the downside is, you got to sacrifice your house phone number upon successful termination and you'll get new hse phone number for new sign ups. And to avoid account name conflict, it is better that you use different name upon signing up new Streamyx account.

TM won't let existing Streamyx customers enjoy the new rates automatically, because if they do that, they know that this will only letting them lose money, lose profit. In TM's world, there's no such thing as loyalty to customers.

They somewhat force you to use Hypp TV cuz they want more people to watch Hypp TV lo...

They have sport channels, but need to add additional RM30/month for Hypp TV Sports pack. And the sports content coverage aren't as good as Astro's.

we are the in the 'forever 8mbps club' now. There are SUBB not too far from my house, too bad TM give priority to tamans area.

There's rumours about tm increasing streamyx speed to even 20Mbps. But when, who knows... And the upload speed max only 1Mbps because that's the limitation of ADSL.

and few months back there is some fiber pulling activity on the main road outside my taman area which until now there are no news
strangely though when check for unifi coverage the TM live chat says that there is unifi infra in my taman but did not have unit number on their system...
weird, afraid that after I apply the bonaza 8mbps then unifi suddenly available.... upgrading from streamyx to unifi will have penalty if under contract ?

I have 4mb streamyx before this. Rm88 since 2009. Just cancel and apply new line. Get new modem, new wireless home phone nd free hypptv for 2 years. Tidak perlu bayar apa-apa for installer because they just change the port they said. Dont have to install new wiring.

TM.offer to just upgrade to rm89 for 8mb witout apply new number but i thinks rugi kerana tidk dapat telefon, modem baru.

their modem basically garbage. i have 2 now. both collecting dust.
previously using 4m their modem youtube 4m speed youtube play at 144p. change a cheap tp link modem. automatically run 720p HD

According to the T&C of this Streamyx Bonanza Campaign promotion (as of 7 Nov 2017), it lasts until 31 December 2017 only, meaning that you won't be able to enjoy this offer from 1 Jan 2018 onwards.
But who knows, TM may extend promo period to anytime they like... Just like how TM keep on extending webe's RM79/month plan over and over again, saying that "promo last till ___, this is your last chance to grab this offer", bla bla bla... as if this is their tactic to attract customers to aware about the plans and to quickly subscribe to the new Streamyx plans.

So guys, don't be skeptical until you think like "yer... i have to pay the original price from 25th month onwards, i don't wan liao... why this TM liddat one...."

Ok let say now you take 8Mbps RM89/month plan, this is what will happen, according to the T&C of the Streamyx's promo now (7 Nov 2017).

And who knows TM introduces might new introduce affordable Streamyx plans again like this Bonaza promo after your 24 months contract ended? 2 years is a long way to go, and the things can change in this 2 years...

Let say now, 2 years has passed, it's now 1 Jan 2020, what if TM being stingy and doesn't offer Streamyx promo back in end-2017 anymore? Either you downgrade back to whatever Streamyx speed/price plan that you used to enjoy/pay before you upgrade to the Streamyx plans back in 2 years ago (end-2017), OR go for Unifi if it's available in your area by then, OR find other internet plans solutions such as unlimited wireless broadband similar to the plans offered in 2017, like the Digi Infinite 150 plan or webe's RM79/month plan.

Hope my advise somewhat helps you to decide a wise choice, for now.
