I have 2 controllers. Tested the battery and charger in both controllers, same thing happens. It was working fine till today.

test this.

take out the battery, then used the P&C cable to "wirefied" ur wireless controller. if its working, then the cable should be alright icon_idea.gif

^erm, maybe the LED charging light is spoilt? try charging via a pc USB if possible. anyway, if the battery pack is charging, it should be slightly warm.

tried all ready. set the output of the cable to TV.
Then change the settings in xbox dashboard to normal display.
but still seems a bit stretched. Not much around 1-2 inch on both sides of the dashboard.  doh.gif
Is it because of the TV?? no rite?? hmm.gif
*
hi, congrats on ur new purchase.

i'm also using a SDTV (china brand) via component.- it can support widemode.

if i set the 360 to 480i standard mode - the dashboard is stretched/overscan by quite a bit

if i set the 360 to 480i wide mode - the dashboard also "stretched"

funny thing is that my ps2 doesn't do that in standard/wide mode, so the setting problem is coming from the 360. the scaler is doing a bad job resizing for SDTV. when play using VGA on pc monitor, the image is perfect no overscan sweat.gif

Maybe its the compatibility with the TV brand?? hmm.gif
But thats not supposed to be an issue rite?
By the way I was using an LG TV. A few years old already.
The permanent TV would be a Toshiba Bomba, also a few years old.
Is there any issue with older CRT flat screen TVs?
*
i dont think is tv problem, cos astro/dvd player/ps2 is working correctly.

the thing is xbox360 renders a 1280*720 pixel image and then use an internal scaler to match the tv resolution. SDTV only have max 640*480 resolution, the scaler is just producing a very overscanned image (around 5%). if u know how to mess with the service menu of ur CRT SDTV, maybe u can adjust the overscan, not sure.

but ofcos, if u have a new HDTV (LCD/plasma) i'm sure no such overscan problem.

ayiezs,

haha i just kidding abt the hdtv part.

yes, i play in widemode and the image is overscan (around3~5%) on my SDTV. but last time, i bring the 360 to test on fren's sony 29" crt htdv (the KZdunno what model). guess what? also overscanned on 720P mode. LoL.

i think this 360 overscan issue only affect CRT tvs. if u got VGA cable, test it on a pc monitor. the image is sure perfect one. don't worry too much, just missing a tiny bit on the left and right, the image is still very good and acceptable. thumbup.gif

If there is customs problems then you have to collect it at the customs office is it?
Seems troublesome like that.  doh.gif

Can anyone tell me where to get older titles for the 360?  icon_question.gif
When I got my 360 from DjiNn, he said that older title might be hard to get.  sweat.gif

Also if buying from Play Asia, i'm still blur about the region codes. Which ones can run on the 360 i bought (asia version)? Whats the difference between Asia and Japan version?
*
if u r lucky and ur order amount is small (<RM300), kastam should let u go.

even if u dont buy from p-a, u can do alot of research at p-a. they have a region compatibility list and states which Asian/JPN versions supports english. for older titles, if u dont mind 2nd hand, can try the pasar malam trading thread here.

is armored core 4 asian version has chinese subtitle? Because i saw its chinese name is written at its cover at the PA website..
*
when it comes to 360 asian version covers, most have chinese characters in front, but i dont think it means the game supports chinese lang., they just differentiate the covers for marketing purposes.

not sure about AC4, some singaporeans at bob.com.sg/forum/ say there are SOME chinese text(not sure if its FULL translation), best u go ask them for confirmation since they have the game.

Hi guys. Just wondering. Other than warranty issues in getting an Xbox360 Elite from the US, are there anything else that I should worry and concern about? Currently, they have a promotion on circuitcity.com with Xbox Elite + Free Controller for the regular price. Two weeks ago, it even came with Fusion Frenzy 2. Missed that boat. After adding tax, it comes up to US$523.58 (approx. RM1,884). It will be a store pick-up and shipping charges free, as my nephew will be coming back for the summer holidays in early July. Am concern about region barring issues on XboxLive. Other than that, US games are more expensive than Asian releases. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

if ur nephew is buying the elite from USA stores, ask him to buy NOW and test the machine kawkaw and d/load some USA only marketplace content. they have 90-day return policy for defects for most major retail chains, IINM. and yeah, ask him to get those burger king games too thumbup.gif

got a question here..

Just bought a game (Kameo) from Play Asia earlier this month. When i tried to play it last night for the first time, the console says unplayable disc.  blink.gif
What does that mean? Have any of you guys faced before?

I already bought the Asia version, so I don't think it is because of region lock. I haven't tried the game on any other consoles though.

What is the return policy of Play Asia and how to go about this? If I'm not mistaken have to send back and wait for them to verify if they got the same prob on the game disc. If not then no luck.  shakehead.gif  doh.gif

Haiyaa... waste money lai dat.  doh.gif

try the disc on other machine. i also bought kameo when it was on discount from P-A. play the 1st half hour - no problems so far. my set has hitachi dvd-rom on horizontal position.

i downloads some videos, map pack...it stays at 1%....why like this?
*
in my experience, if the download speeds are really really slow, reboot the router/modem and get a new IP. certain IPs work better with XBL downloads depending on your area. for example, a few months ago i get only get decent d/l speeds with 60.51.xxx IP, nowadays i can only get good speed with 218.111.xxx

Wanna check about Dynasty Warrior: Gundam...

I knew it was released in US on 23rd August, but when I went searching, I heard it was region locked...Is it true?

Then, I found another version, Gundam Musou International...so which should I be getting for Asia ?
*
yes, the upcoming "Gundam Musou International" xbox360 NTSC/J should be playable on Asian sets. despite the "International" in the title, the game could be all in JPN language only similar to the PS3 versions.

^ i think the Asian fanbase for hockey games is too small to release a NTSC/J version. star wars lego also never did get an NTSC/J release.

can consider getting a PS3+game. finish the game, then sell it off if you don't care for it after that smile.gif

^ rgd the "Unreadable discs" problem, previously someone mentioned can try using compressed air or those "blower" device to try clean off any pollutants that might affect the lense. maybe google other forums for more solutions.
