Thanks again for your valuable advice. Check my valve cover gasket and change to 0-30W full synthetic engine oil (every 10,000km). Got it.

You suggested in previous a previous post to change the steering bush. Just want to confirm if this is the part you meant?

Yes that the bush if im not wrong. Better upgrade to PU (blue) colour bush, which is more reliable and long lasting

That's why buying 2nd hand camry doesnt guarantee any quality... it's solely in ur luck... and u need a good and trustable mechanic as well...

Actually buying a 2nd hand car doesn't guarantee any quality, not only camry. Most used cars have problems, either small problem or major problem. Must be prepared for repairs if you buy a used car.

If you read the star news paper yesterday, someone bought a peuqot 308 for RM 22000 and ended up needing RM 24000 for repairs.

Getting a Japanese used car will cost less to repair compare to Continental cars.

Well, if you have the money, buy new, else be prepared to fix your used car. I cant afford a new camry, so I bought a used unit. Also, I am fully aware that I need to repair the car, not complaining of the repairs though.

Yup same. I bought a second hand 2013 Camry XV50 2.5V during the end of 2018. Initially it had no "tik tok" sound until I went to adjust the steering wheel angle, as it was adjusted to the most inner top position previously. After the adjustment, I can hear the "tik tok" noise very clearly when I go through uneven road. Not long ago, I brought my car to Toyota Service Center to let them check, and they told me that steering rack's gear loosen already or something, and needs roughly RM3k to replace. I did not let them repair tho, planning to go out and find professionals.

I have also found this online.

Thanks bro. Initially I thought it was the steering coupling. Still no time to trouble-shoot yet. I am sure it is either the steering coupling or the steering rack. No time to check through.

Anyone facing the issue of Camry(acv40) car brake not very bity as compared to other car models? Have to press quite deep inside to actually feel the brake biting.

Replaced brake fluid already, and brake pad still has 60% thickness. Replaced brake rotors 50k km ago iirc due to warping

ACV 40 brake characteristic. For slow n normal braking, press the brake pedal normally, it feels soft. To brake hard, you need to press the brake pedal twice, and the braking will be very strong.

Check if your brake pad is original.

You mentioned u need to press quite deep. I suspect it is the brake servo problem. Go send it for a check.
