So this is the thread for people who are in a Long Distance Relationship? Cool, it is good to know that there are people who is in the same situation as I am. Been on a LDR for about 2.5 years, still a few more or many more years to go. So how do you people generally cope? I invest more on my hobbies these days, and I must say I do somehow enjoy the freedom of being able to spend this much time on my hobbies.

SAVE FOR EMERGENCY? Don't be like my gf! save for what emergency, money will come! No need to save so much!

When I was a student that applies, but not anymore.

link some of your stories, lazy to find, I am at work! Err well just spend a lot of money, and she'd definately appreciate it!
Frankly I dont believe in cheap birthdays and stuff like it's the thought that counts, like all those stuff you see in dramas.
Cheap and romantic birthday dinner, no such thing! It doesn't exist.

Cheap + romantic birthday dinner, why not? Buy your own ingredients and cook for her. She will be touched, at least when I cooked for my gf, she was so delighted. In fact, even without spending any single cents, it can be romantic too. For example, bring her to the place where you first hold her hand. Then, hold her hand there again and tell her.. "this little hand of yours will forever be mine to hold".

Rich dude can buy romantic ideas, poor dude can make his own romantic ideas.

Edit: Typo

I did that once. I cooked a nice steak dinner with some fish... i think it was salmon WITH the electric out at that time. Well guess what? She says my cooking sucks. Well i felt the same way, so next time, no more cooking.
