Hi sifus,
I’ve recently purchased a 2ndhand D-Link DIR882 router which I believe it’s a TIME fibre set. It’s running on firmware version 3.5.8tt (something like that).
However, I’m using TM@Unifi and I couldn’t get it to work. I’ve already tried changing its pppoe to my unifi account login details. And it seemed like the router is not getting any internet connection.
What did I miss here? I tried googling around for ways to configure this router but I couldn’t find any guides that actually work. Or simply because it’s outdated. Because I noticed the guides on google show different interface and features than what I’m currently seeing when I wanna set up the router which really makes me confuse.
I’m starting to think that I made a wrong purchase. Or perhaps I didn’t properly configure the router for it to work.
Could anyone lend me a hand?

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jul 14 2019, 10:28 AM) VLAN tagging enabled? If it is a used TIME unit, they did not enable VLAN tagging as they do need to do so. If it is using TIME firmware, you might not be able to enable VLAN. Probably best to check. If you can’t enable VLAN tagging, you will have to flash TM firmware or the stock firmware. Yeah, I tried vlan tagging as well but it doesn’t work. Any idea how to flash TM firmware for this router?

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jul 14 2019, 12:55 PM) Go to the product page and see if there is a firmware for there. I think there is only the official router firmware at their product page. Is it possible to force update the firmware?

QUOTE(heidarren @ Jul 14 2019, 03:54 PM) Try Padavan firmware, known as the best 3rd party firmware for MTK platform, they have good support for DIR882 I'm fairly new to this. Could you guide me on how it works? EDIT:// Looked around the web and found it. But I could only find that their supported hardware is A1. But mine is R1. So no luck? QUOTE(heidarren @ Jul 14 2019, 07:49 PM) https://www.acwifi.net/7629.htmlIf you can read Chinese, sorry I can't seems to find any guide in English. The steps is like enter recovery mode > flash DD-WRT > flash breed > flash Padavan, you will need WinSCP and Putty to have these steps done, might sounds complicated but just follow the guide and it's pretty simple Unfortunately, I can't read Chinese. However, thanks for sharing. I'll find a way to translate the page.
