Hi guys,
Need some opinions here on some mid-range/slightly good range of gaming laptops based on the following 4 brands/models I've saw in the flyers/booklets in Oct 2017.
Acer Nitro 5 Model AN515-51-70Y8 Intel Core i7-7700HQ Win 10 Home 15.6" FHD display Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB DDR5 4GB DDR4 RAM 128GB SSD + 1TB No DVD-rom 2.7kg 1 year Traveller warranty RM4699
Asus ROG Strix GL553 Intel Core i7-7700HQ Win 10 Home 15.6" FHD display Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 4GB DDR5 8GB RAM 128GB SSD + 1TB weight not specified 2 year global warranty RM5099

HP OMEN 15-ce031TX Intel Core i7-7700HQ Win 10 15.6" FHD display Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 4GB DDR5 8GB DDR4 RAM 128GB M.2 SSD + 1TB weight not specified 2 year onsite warranty RM4999
HP OMEN 15-ce030TX Intel Core i7-7700HQ Win 10 15.6" FHD display Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB DDR5 8GB DDR4 RAM 128GB M.2 SSD + 1TB weight not specified 2 year onsite warranty RM5399
My budget should be between RM4-5k and the Nitro5 seems like a good deal. Please advice.

Would recommend you to build a proper desktop + portable laptop instead. Or if you're looking for portability AND power, build a mini itx desktop. You can get most of the specs above for around 3k :/
But if you're really looking for one of those, I'd say go for omen. Go for nitro and add some ram if you don't mind the 2.7kg and 1 yr limited warranty

guys, then if buy desktop or custom build desktop gaming rig, how's the cooling system if compared against gaming laptops? Will gaming laptop heat up faster/longer over the course of say 3 hours of non-stop gaming?

hey, yeah would suggest you to get a desktop if you'd ask. you'll save more money than getting a gaming laptop from above.
