some of the more techie guys have actually managed to find out where the servers are located.

anyway, server location isn't really the issue here since when the game started, it's been good. also... for me, and a few others, it's usually only in the evening that the ping gets worse... we suspect could be due to peak period/ congestion.

having said that... i have been informed that the game currently works best on mobile networks. landlines... last i heard, they are still working with the providers to optimise traffic.

so, if wanna play, better chance you get better network if you're on a mobile network... that is... unless your mobile network coverage is bad at your place.

they are still giving out heroes... though need to work for it a bit. last month, login daily and you get the hearts that you can change for heroes.

similar thing this month... and you can get what is possibly considered one of the Tier S heroes -- Violet.

i already have Violet, so aiming for Raz...

sharing what i understand about the Asia server...

Asia is meant for some countries like Australia, Japan, etc... the countries not covered by Garena AOV. officially, Garena AOV will still be the apps for Malaysia, etc...

as for the Asia server itself, i seldom get RED ping or spikes. usually when it get, it's due to network congestion rather than the server itself. at good times, even with just 2 bar on my network, i still get green ping results on Asia. heck, even on game main screen, i see only green. can't say the same about Garena AOV which can go between orange to red even in main screen.

in terms of heroes... Asia server uses the same apps for US and Europe. when you launch the apps, you can select which server to join. so, you get basically *all* the heroes released so far. so, it's faster than Valiant in most (if not all) cases.

game play wise... i find so far, the game play is very aggressive. of course this changes over time depending on each player's style. dun be surprised to see 3 at mid trying to take down your tower. your team better be good at reacting to such situations... else, GG very fast.

in a way, if you're used to Valiant style, be ready for change.

good or bad... depends la. i am the type that likes variation. so, this change is nice as i need to learn and adapt to the new style.

i need to add... since Garena is still official apps for MY, any contests, tourney, etc... all come under this apps/ server.

so, if play solely in Asia, they you'll miss out on all the qualifiers for all the tournaments.

i know quite a few still do...

if play Asia server (directly by Tencent -- need to install using APK), the same thing. i get better ping and no "bobo" business.

but having said that... Asia server... you also get really weird tactics like 3 in mid rushing at early game...

nope. it's Arena of Valor. by Tencent. it's the same version used in EU, US and Asia (i think Japan, Australia and also Vietnam).

i find this version... very fast and stable. Garena's version which is our official version... i usually get orange to red ping.

the tencent one... usually green. but player quality... about the same. you meet the same type of id10ts...

for iOS... iinm, you need to change region to US. and have an account that can access the US store (or sth like that). then look for Arena of Valor by Tencent.

this is for the Tencent version. locally, the official version is by Garena.

anyway, Garena MY server is closing. it will be merged with ID server.

users will need to:
* download & install Arena of Valor (for Indonesia)
* create account there
* go to: transfer.aov.garena.com
* enter the details of your AOVID (you need Player ID)

only some items will be transferred over. tokens won't be. your gems and ruby will be. along with heroes and most skins. only Arcana L3 will be carried over.

so, sell off whatever cannot be carried over so you get extra coins.

you will get some goodies once transfer is successful.

having said that... i think if ppl wanna sell account... this is good time. can transfer your stuff to someone else...

Asia... see how first. i was kinda annoyed i could not find match even after like 10+mins... i think i hit 15mins or sth and then exit.

there's basically only one version now for Malaysia. look for the one with blue icon (featuring Liliana). this is for Android. not sure if its the same icon for iOS.

it is still managed by Garena. but it's Garena Indonesia. players from the previous Valiant servers were migrated over (but you had to do some things -- if you didn't, then you lost everything and need to start all over). so, this new server has got ID, MY, PH and SG players.

when you login, you will see the server name... Barataduya or sth like that.

if you didn't do anything to carry over your items... then yeah, just need to create new account and start all over.
