A 'real fan', how do we become one?

for me it's easy. as long as you stick by your team in any situation be it win, lose, draw, being(or almost being) took over by a suspicious looking Russian, winning a treble, relegated to the lower league etc you are a 'real fan' in my book

doesn't matter if you just start supporting your club last weekend

doesn't matter how you start to support the team be it because of the team is winning, "siding with the underdog" syndrome etc

doesn't matter if you never been to the club stadium

doesn't matter if you didn't know the chant/song

doesn't matter if you never buy the original club merchandise i.e shirt, bag, sweater etc


re: on the national team issue. i have my support for a national team. i support Malaysia all the way since i start to know football

hahaha..doesn't really hard to understand someone supporting his own country team, right?

but yeah, i do understand what you meant. but then again, i stick with my team in every situation once i become that team fan. and Malaysia is the national team that i support

hehe.. i do enjoy the World Cup. i am a football fan after all. just hope that i will see Malaysia in the World Cup in my lifetime

oh, and i want to add that i find really hard to accept 'fans' as real when they didn't make an effort to watch their team match when available at telly or they going to sleep in the middle of watching their team match due to their team losing (u know who u r)
