Even now WD also has factory in Thailand for many years already. During the big flood in Thailand, their factory was also badly affected and have to move machines to other factory (tumpang)

Not all part were flooded. My company has plant in Thailand too but on higher ground. So, WD wanted to rent our empty space but our CEO gave them FOC.

Yes many manufacturing that are human intensive moving to Thailand. Cheaper labor? Not sure. However, European companies are looking for manufacturing partners in this region as well, not China because China famous with uncontrolled copies of products even before the products are released into market.
