Lewis himself had couple of lucky moment, including one in Monaco when he damaged his tyre, salvaged by a pitstop and got even better luck by having safety car later, he was crowned as champion in that Monaco GP. Forgot which year was it.

If "Strat 14" mode do take away the lifespan of the engine, I would've not activated it if I'm in the 44 car, but I'm sitting here and not the world champion.

but Lewis was complaining that no one in Merc told him that Seb would be very close after Ferrari pitstop, I think that's an overlook/mistake from Mercedes (or it's just the way they managing their driver on track by not telling them), but I doubt it will be useful, because even if Lewis had been informed, how fast can he go under the VSC mode?

So damage limitation @ 2nd place. expecting more for 2018

Mercs said there's a software problem that gave them the incorrect time estimation on the VSC window. Anyway as you said Lewis also cannot do anything as his speed was already governed by the VSC rule like everyone else and if he went faster then he should get penalized which is even worse. It's just Seb's luck that he's in that window to exploit the advantage, just like any advantage that can be gained during normal safety car too.
*
Just read that Mercs have that software problem, it's mistake by Mercs you are right.

those who have unifitv and playtv, check for fox sports channel, your pack have been upgraded. fox sport is showing F1, don't need to find streaming site anymore.  thumbup.gif

They all got tricks up their sleeves, just a matter who got the best ones! They're some of the most brilliant race car engineers in the world, of course every time they will try to cheat or do some tricks to gain an advantage.

yup, everyone got their trick underneath their sleeve, just that hammer tend to have loose Mouth and everyone like to overinterpret what he meant. Hope he do talk by driving

Too bad that Perez hasn't been confirmed with a race seat next year, to RB could him?

Or Hulkenberg?

Guys, where do you watch F1 live broadcast from, thinking of getting rid the RM60/ month Unifi TV and change to other broadband, but I want the F1 live broadcasting without the monopoly Unifi that charging me RM200 for 30mbps doh.gif

there are many online link that provide live coverage (but it's a bit unstable), seldom do we watch TV and only every F1 weekend, I just want to relax and need not to close the advertisement windows multiple times.

Might as well stick to Unifi rather than getting Astro,

I think he was most lucky when he won his first title in 2008.
*
It was also dramatic for McLaren to have lost the 2007 (drivers or team)

He was not lucky to be the teammate with Alonso, but come to think about it, he was lucky to have Alonso to be his teammate, hence his speed got proven (by having Alonso) and benchmarking goes straight away to top tier league. When he was unlucky, he got beaten by Button and Rosberg, by slim margin in both years, slim margin comes with many DNF compare to his teammates, he is still stronger but I doubt he is faster than MV today.

Lewis is still the best driver on grid. MV gotta wait till Sir LH retires 😂
*
The gap is a lot closer as what shown by Russel last year.

Lewis made a mistake by running wide, but equalized by MV to have passed him a bit too early.

Anyway it's easier to say while relaxing at couch, the tense in the driver's cockpit are unimaginable

Toto is smiling and maybe justification for him to persuade Merc management to pay 36 years old that much money.

Thought that RB called MV’s pitstop a little too late. If called in earlier probably would’ve caught LH earlier instead of the final 5 laps only
*
How about the performance window of the tyre? MV has been cruising to preserve the life of it before striking at near distance

alonso, I'm the better than the other F1 driver. first round sudah DNF.😁🤭 dunno if his comeback is a bad luck.

Interesting to both Alonso and Raikkonen fighting mildly in the early stage, must be saying "still driving ya "old" pal?"

I thnk LH is slightly better are personal strategy... not fully depend on the team, good tyre & time management.

MV meanwhile more dependent on speed and risk.
*
Remind us of the young LH who is equally aggressive and fast, almost a reverse of SPA 2007, Kimi vs Lewis on the last 2 laps, but Lewis was deemed to have gained advantage and thrown out of being the champion

How can Lewis not like Bottas as teammate and his employer Mercedes?

I mean VB and GR (a Benz driver in line) helped LH to up-lap himself even when both crashing out of the race, lol

Max radio after the crash is scary. Sounded like really hit him hard. Glad he is ok

The first 3 seconds showed Max was defending hard, keeping Lewis to his right on the straight, he probably expecting Lewis to back off when approaching the apex, but I doubt he would back off if he were to driving in Lewis car at that point. Max has been keeping his elbow out since 1st race (Imola where Lewis backed off to avoid collision), many seeing their collision coming inevitably and now it comes at Max's cost.

All competitive drivers (AS, NM, MS, FA, LW, MV) do that, placing their car in a position that force the counterpart to choose whether to close the gap and bet on coming out better off or not.

To me, it was racing incident.

Mercedes milking out of every single cent they paid to Hamilton

Bottas will get best teammate trophy again, and he is worth every single cent Mercedes have paid to him

I feel that it's unfair the drivers get penalized for no fuel, they literally can't do anything (except don't push...but that's what they literally get paid to do).

The team should be penalized instead, minus marks from constructors championships, impose fine or whatever, but I can't see why it is the driver's fault for not having enough fuel left at the end of the race.

Yup, like Raikkonen getting 10 seconds for unsafe release that took out Mazepin, but they say win and and lose as a team
