That move on Lewis was excellent. Reminded me of the same move on Kimi at Monza. That late lunge and yet he didn't lock the tyres. Impressive
*
Yup both moves caught his opponents by surprise and he did it cleanly, making the apex and not pushing the opponent wide despite so late braking. Max tried to do the same but he went wide to hit Seb despite Seb already giving enough room on the apex. You can see how far Max was from the apex of the corner when he hit Seb. He needs to study DR data to learn how the other guy able to pull it off. smile.gif

Good news, more fuel allowed starting next year, which means can run more power full time!

Starting 2021 also will reduce telemetry so driver should be more independent:

Bottas then. Give poor Mercs their first win of the season. Lol

Hahaha boleh! Actually I'd be happy if either him, or Kimi, or Max to win this weekend. Need to further spice up at the top and ruffle some feathers of the 2 big name drivers! laugh.gif

What a crazy race again this year in Baku!

Seb's kinda screw up again in Baku even though not as stupid like last year. Will Baku become Seb's undoing for the season?

Feel a bit sorry for Bottas actually, he deserved the win. Super lucky for Ham, he should not have won this.

Kimi, well he had thrown away his chance of winning by stuffing up quali. Just got lucky also that he got 2nd. Ocon is to blame though for closing the door on him. If not for that Kimi might still have a chance to win too.

Grosjean must be kicking himself, what a stupid mistake! Feel sorry for Haas for losing again another huge chunk of points, but this time due to driver's error.

Finally the RB boys, so what do you guys think?? IMHO it's Max was more to blame as he again weaved around under braking.

1 question. Why ferrari use soft tyre in their last run of q3 while mercedes using ultra soft? Ferrari shd know soft tyre is slower n lesser grip
*
Some said that the difference between the 2 tires in this track now is not much and can be actually almost identical with maybe the SS slightly faster but more peaky/narrower operating window. So maybe Ferrari is more suitable using the S instead of the SS. You can see Kimi in his first attempt in Q3 was using SS but then in the first corner already he slid a bit, ruining his whole lap. Not sure if Seb was also using the same SS in his first attempt which was also not good.

Yeah very boring race as Ham was too dominant which should be a worrying sign.

Ferrari again messed up.

Grosjean probably would loose his seat next season.

I think ferrari strategy needed Kimi in the race to work
*
If Kimi lasted to the end, he might be able to help Seb get ahead of Max but I doubt can help Seb also ahead of Bottas. Anyway both Seb's pit stops were also rather slow, so that was the main cause he got held up behind KMag in his first one and then behind Max on his second. Both Ferraris basically lacked the pace needed to challenge both Mercs.

wtf pirelli provide mercedes-spec tyre so mercedes can win again? come on...

Next race will return to normal tires though. This same thinner tread tires will be used again later in Silverstone and Paul Ricard.

good, so Ferrari can maximize their potential using "Ferrari-spec" tyre, while Mercedes-spec tyre limited to 3 circuits only this season.
Ferrari gonna dominate this season bar 3 circuits, haha. flex.gif
*
Well let's see how it goes. Maybe Mercs later able to develop their car so can suite the normal tires while Ferrari also can do the same for the thinner tires? smile.gif

A bit OOT, I just watched the DTM opening season races at Hockenheim and their 2nd race was just awesome! Got back and forth duel for the win between Timo Glock in the BMW vs Garry Paffet in the Mercs. They overtook each other countless times for several laps in multiple places, very entertaining duel, until Glock finally won in the end. Paffet ended up 3rd as he lost more performance on his tires from the duel. Both the racers also were very excited during their post race interview when commenting on their duel. I wish F1 can be like that!
