It's more like Ferrari spicy engine making huge gains because even Alfa and Haas looking good. They might even challenge Mercedes next week since Jeddah is a higher speed circuit which I think will see worse porpoising with the Mercedes. Aston Martin copied Mercedes rear end thus unless Mercedes improved on this aspect, dont think they will improve. Not sure whats up with McLaren though as they are the only team suffering from all sort of reliability issues at this moment. Everyday seems like a new challenge.

Maybe not engine on fire like Brundle said. He commented that no white smoke from exhaust thus maybe short circuit in electrical. Sounds logical. Usually engine condemn have white smoke.

Personally I don't feel like Mercedes engine is losing. They have increased their ride height for race and qualy to counter porpoising. I think their car looks okay for first half of the race when the car is heavy with fuel. Lewis's car is porpoising quite severely after the SC restart when he tried to catch Perez. Maybe they should focus on first half of their race using more aggressive strategy and doing more pitstop to use the fresh tyres advantage to keep their 3rd row finish while trying to find a solution to their aero problem.

There's still a limited number of sets available to each driver over the weekend. What changed is simply everyone gets to choose which sets they want to start the race with. Top 10 qualifiers no longer need to use their Q2 sets like previous years.

I googled and found this.

13sets dry tyres, 8soft 3medium 2hard (fixed allocation after pandemic hit)...

FP1 must use and return 1set soft
FP2 must return 2 sets
FP3 must return 2 sets

Then 1set soft return whether used/unused after Q3

I guess each driver still have 7 (+1 if qualified to Q3)sets available for qualy and race.

Inters is 4sets and full wets 3sets. If FP is wet, then will be given extra set of inter which must be returned.

I think there's extra rules like if FP2 cancelled, they just need to return 1set, then keep another set for FP3 and return 3sets after FP3 if not mistaken. A bit complicated.

I wonder...

They even changed that part on Saturday night (seems like FIA released statement on this but not many sites reported it. Something to do with allowing teams to change this updated part which said to fix the fuel pump meter issue that encountered by some teams in testing). The fact that it only affect RB cars... so suspicious.

It's a standard part supplied by FIA. They changed to updated parts and still suffer the problem.

Anyway, maybe Jeddah will get cancelled?

Astro go quality better than beyond box. The other day call to inquire but seems like need to sign 2 years if want to get ultrabox. Thinking wanna exchange with my parents but my OKU sister used the ondemand very often. My parents tv only FHD... too bad cant test the sports 4K and see if the quality is good.

I already had a supp from my parents account thus already had Sports package. Astro Go is for my brother who lived with his inlaws and my wife who wants to watch drama in bedroom.

Personally I think Mercedes could sprung a surprise, depending on track. I think their race pace is pretty good, they just kinda suffer from 1 lap performance during qualifying. I feel Mercedes is having the most potential for massive gains compared to Ferrari or RB. If RB could get their car as stable as Ferrari, I think they could gain 2-3tenths.

Sainz is struggling... His car is bouncing...

But they don't seem fast. The track is so smooth that I'm even surprised to see Sainz bouncing so badly.

I felt like Mercedes running very low again. The floor almost touch the tarmac.

Team bosses said race on but some drivers are voicing their concerns. Still in meeting...

F2... Huge accident, forklift on track and SC... I'm surprised no red flag. Rushing to end I guess.

Leclerc could have gone faster.. I think he played safe in 3rd sector knowing he was ahead. Mana tau checo got slightly faster. He was focusing too much on Sainz.
