QUOTE(6UE5T @ Jun 26 2021, 11:21 PM) Imo when he is the technical and team boss at the same time, no check and balance. Let's say he got one technical solution which not working great, while got other options, but he will still pushed it through as a team boss. And being a technical person myself, most of us not really good managing, especially people. There's a reason why CEO and CFO and CTO should be different person. |

QUOTE(ctw88 @ Jun 27 2021, 02:09 PM) Not entirely true. Ferrari had power advantage back then. What RBR is doing now is lowering their downforce to compensate lack of power. Showing that the RB is a better balanced car. But it also benefitted to the new floor design rules which highly impacted low rake carsGiven long enough straight, the merc could still power pass RBR QUOTE(6UE5T @ Jun 27 2021, 04:40 PM) Ya LH is a good racer and passer so if he can get within striking distance in a proper track, he can overtake, unlike his team mate who IMHO is a poor racer. With russel almost made it into Q3, lucky bottas did not drive for Marko |

QUOTE(8sg9ft @ Jul 4 2021, 11:35 AM) Not entirely his fault though. Team informed him very late on the radio that Alonso was approaching. And some shared video of the car trackers on track. Bottas, a few cars ahead of Vettel, was well behind Russell on track but started accelerating out of turn 9 so late to start his hot lap and affecting the 2 or 3 cars behind him Masi really made some inconsistent decisions lately, when in practice, inm bottas is not penalised due to the reason driver in front queuing... Which is the same with this incident. But of course a penalty had to be handed out anyway and unfortunately Vettel was the one And don't start on track limit... The no consistency |

QUOTE(sp6068 @ Jul 4 2021, 01:14 PM) Well Sainz had the privilege to train exclusively with Ferrari using their past cars which is why he got used to the car very fast. I don't know why mclaren did not do it for DR. He is the only second driver that is still struggling Because the previous car is a very different car with Renault engine |

QUOTE(Nother @ Jul 4 2021, 12:37 PM) I don't mind Seb being penalized, he was partially at fault due to his team negligence but my main issue is the narrative that the FIA is delivering. Yep, should penalised the one who caused it (the one in fromt) , or penalised the entire train. From Seb's view: I followed instructions to not slow down at T9-10 but before T8-9 and was overtaken. The drivers who overtook me ended up slowing down at T9-10, which ultimately results in Alonso missing his final run. So, I got penalized while the drivers ahead of me, who overtook me at the appropriate slow down location ends up scot free? So, the stewards are basically saying that we will fuck up whoever ends up last and causing the jam and not the person who started the jam in the wrong place. Also, can be noted that most of the drivers waiting for clear air before the final corner waited 2-3s while BOT waited close to 8s. Was he trying to slow Perez down? Which inadvertently resulted in the ALO-VET issue? Either penalize everyone or don't penalize anyone, simple as that. |

QUOTE(sp6068 @ Jul 4 2021, 02:23 PM) Engine only. Their prev car is not too far off also pace wise. Mclaren has so much heritage and history they should give DR a proper training. Now they are paying the price. Even he did not suffer this badly when he went to renault. Different engine, thus different packaging and setup..and the teams knew better about the difference. DR is unable to unlearned his style and adapts to this new car, and his late braking skills cannot be used now |

i kinda like the sprint race, but it should not 'undermine' what driver achieved on qualifying which supposed to be reflected in the race.
Maybe one option is sprint race should start with a safety car start, so the one on pole has better advantage to retaining the pole. This can also differentiate it from main race. If really want to go bonkers, can try reverse grid for the print qualifying. start in reverse order of the previous race finish, the position at the end will be the starting grid. haha |
