You cant say that after the appeal started right? I think I can understand why Lewis snub it. I just wonder if he would feel better about it had Masi let the other 2 (or 3) cars between Max and Sainz to also unlap themselves.

Does it matter? Lose 1 position also lose, lose 10 position also lose. It's already the final race.

Honestly, if I were Lewis, I would just stop the car right before the finishing line and walk home. Sent Max a text and wave goodbye to F1 forever.

They wouldn't have enough time regardless which is why they should just restart anyway without the unlapping if they do not want to finish behind safety car.

The unlapping involved all cars and even if they managed to unlap by lap 57, rules stated SC would only return to pit a lap later after the last lap car passed SC.

Rules are not being followed because they are MaFia.

I think it would have been better to restart right after Masi decided cars cannot unlap. Pull the SC in immediately to start the last 2 lap. Max would have enough time to pass the backmarkers and then have final lap showdown. That would still make sense and in compliance with article 15.3 which specify race director has overriding authority over safety car use. Instead we have race director breaking article 48.12 by asking specific car to move out of the way (favoritism even if it was valid) and secondly the SC didn't come in a lap later after the last lap car overtaken SC.

You can have varying decisions and I think most fans would accept that in the end of the day. It's just racing in the end. The line between right and wrong is not just fine, but very blur at times. In the not so distance past, drivers are allowed to squeeze following cars in corners as standard practice. Although drivers have generally advocate for fairer racing, giving more room, sometimes they still squeeze their competitors out.

For me, the most unforgivable decisions by Masi are Spa half points and AD SC.

It seems like FiA tweak the SC to cover Masi errors. I think chaos will follow in future SC.

SC ends the moment all lapped cars may now overtake message appear but not all lapped cars are required to pass the leader for the race to resume. Crazy...

Leader may even get backmarkers in front of him during restart. Losing all his lead and could possibly had backmarkers in front of him... all team principles will be on radio no SC please if their car is leading the race.

Only when I see 4-5 different teams winning after 10 races , then only I'll conclude the rules change works as intended.

Given how high cars are now, I wonder if it would mean that they would let cars race in the wets rather than having red flags and waiting for tracks to dry up.

Russell and Norris tested the other day... can get close in corner but slipstream effect gone... Perhaps both also Mercedes PU thus harder to overtake...
