QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Sep 2 2018, 11:41 PM) Huh? Did you listen to the commentator and then turn off the tv? Still plenty left and it was a red sea. Mercedes being booed from beginning till the end. I'm listening to the race while doing something else after that crash...haha

Ferrari never prepared for 'what-if' situation. Can see from their tyre choice....and testing done with soft tyres.
Also, they failed to react fast, unlike RB.

i think Ferrari should keep kimi until 2020. But then, th problem is he 'sometimes' fast make it hard to make vettel win/get pole, but aren't really fast when it matters. At least bottas is consistant thus make it easier for mercedes to make their strategy works.

Vettel is pretty pissed in Q3 because the team didn't believed him when he said he will be able to get through Q2 with Ultrasoft.

QUOTE(voscar @ Sep 16 2018, 12:47 PM) Let's see if Vettel-Ferrari powerful PU able to overtake Hamilton during the start, as if Hamilton "non-existent" on straight as happened on SPA GP. I don't think so. See how Kimi unable to overtake bottas at high speed monza. Mercedes maybe sandbagging to trap ferrari.

QUOTE(HMMaster @ Sep 16 2018, 09:33 PM) Now the top 6 (except vettel) on soft.... vettel probably need to pit again. There's probably a problem in ferrari after the boss died. Like replacing kimi with leclerc. Kinda felt like someone wants to make ferrari 'his'.

QUOTE(HMMaster @ Sep 30 2018, 11:24 AM) I think so. Dont think Ferrari have the pace to challenge them. As last year... Ferrari lags behind for in season development race.

Vettel is unhappy with Ferrari strategy... Questioning the inter... Maybe Ferrari nowadays treats driver only as employees and don't let them weight in into the decision.
Great results for Honda. They improved a lot. Meanwhile alonso....

QUOTE(8sg9ft @ Oct 6 2018, 08:05 PM) Actually Seb partly at fault too. Not only Ferrari for their strategy call. He screwed up his lap at Spoon curve like Kimi did but only worse. Without that mistake, he would have started row 2 probably. He's pushing it too hard. But imo, unless he can get in front of Hamilton, it doesn't matter much where his end up. because it is impossible to catch the Mercedes pair, and with Hyper, overcut is impossible too.

The most interesting news is RB+Honda went without trouble, and quite fast. Unlike with mclaren Honda.
And william will dominate the back of the grid this year too

The problem with ferrari last year is lack of focus, unlike mercedes who straight up use team order to helps Hamilton, and strategy all priorities him over bottas. Then driver and team errors and more importantly, lacking in season development, which saw RB catch up to them. Imo, too much politics involved inside ferrari, especially when the old boss died.

QUOTE(voscar @ Feb 22 2019, 12:24 AM) Mercedes just responded, Hamilton on 3rd in morning session, running on softer C4 tyre, but not impressive enough.. Quote: "Ferrari on c3 was only 1 tenth slower than Mercedes on c4 faster tyre and surprisingly Renault were an equal for Mercedes in c4. " Interestingly, Mercedes is the only team using low rake design. Either they know something nobody else knew, or they just made a mistake with the new regulations

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Feb 22 2019, 10:27 PM) Combined test times https://www.crash.net/f1/results/913670/1/b...-times-combinedMercs is actually faster than Ferrari with Renault and TR as top 3. So yeah, it proves nothing can be proven by just testing times! Mercedes use softer tyres

Mercedes can afford to test settings that might works on certain special conditions, because they already knew tge settings for the ideal conditions.

But I'm hopeful that alfa radical design will give them the advantage they need to lead the midfield

Kinda weird to see Mercedes topped fp1. Usually they would sand bagging. Seems also like leclerc might be able to beat bottas, even rb with honda seems quite fast. If TR also can beat mclaren, its like a pie to the face for them.
