#2 looks underexposed.. #3 doesnt look good, but.. sorry let sifu comment #4 underexposed too? #5 watchout compo a lil'? i dont have flash so i cant say much, but somehow the flash on the trunk in the middle is a bit distracting #6 nice nice #7 too tight frame, cut her hand jor #8 compo & background too.. Sorry just personal preference.. no offence bro, i'm still learning to give comment.. This post has been edited by Kensim00: Oct 10 2007, 10:11 PM |

nehh long time never comment photos already..
#1 personal preference, vivid #2 BOMB! #3, #5 compo could be better, don't tight too much the frame, chopped off a lil', perhaps can prefer wider angle (so that you can crop at home) #6 her legs like "dah kik" --- color nicer jor #7, #8 similar compo but still chop jor her watch, else take off the watch.. the leg.. ermmm.. #9 perhaps vertical shots will be better, else subjects better be in the middle, choose a nice background too -- rule of thirds #10 is fine Salute you! You lead the models independently! That's it.. still learning to give comments, hopefully i don't offend you. This post has been edited by Kensim00: Oct 18 2007, 11:08 PM |

i donno.. but feels like they look underexp and still vivid to me..
some compos are fine, but some are too tight alto u're shooting portion of the bikes, in that case actually your kit lense'd help unless you've sold it. personal preference, still learning to give comment and no offence. |

Ermm.. yes exposure is nicer than the previous set. As kenzio mentioned the weaknesses, you still can improve on the compos and perhaps try some new angles in order to pop out the subjects.. it's not necessary to shoot the subjects with the same height level all the time. bbtat and tkf13 have some good angles which shoot from low sides. however, it's so difficult to do it with your 55-200. Perhaps you may bring along your dusty kit lense (if you have 1) during similar situation events.
Secondly, personally feel that the colors are yellowish/reddish too. Lastly, try to avoid any distractions or blockages.. understood it's hard to do so in such a busy event. Sorry but no offence, still learning to give comments. This post has been edited by Kensim00: Oct 26 2007, 12:43 AM |

finally posted up ivy's photos..
#1 if you have really done the de-saturation to look less reddish, perhaps it's down to personal preference again, i still feel that it's very the red #2 pic as well, and compo could be better if u take more portions of her body, watch is distracting #3 is nice, could be better if there's nicer background and better compo, again. #4 u said it #5 i guess you may use your sb600 better, i don have a flash and no knowledge on this so i cant comment #6 well agreed with you, nicest of the 6. --- Extra comment: "I didnt take much pics of her unlike the other guys, coz too many photologs were busy taking Ivy." I did not read this carefully at the 1st glance. But this quote makes me wanna say something. Throughout the whole photoshooting process i feel that the distribution of photographers were fair enough, and we were having hard time because photographers were outnumbered. My bad, because some of us are inexperienced to lead models 1 on 1. Understanding the situation, ivy is our main model as kjin invited her alone at first. While 1 or 2 others were just ad-hoc models that they came during last minute. So this gives us a lil' excuse that we should shoot ivy more (hence, she changes the most outfit too). Furthermore, 'too many photographers were busy shooting ivy' confused me as well. I admit that i shot her most, but i'm so sure not for lvyk and jackiller. 1. Under the shelther during rain, she's the only one posing there and we ALL shot her together. 2. After rain, bbtat kjin and me walked out of the shelther and ivy followed us at the back, we did not ask for it. No offence, just trying to voice out a bit that we're not picky on the models. If it was a poor distribution of photographers on each model, apologies. |

good attempt on story based photos.. here are my comments:
#1 i think it's more suitable for eerie/ghost story series.. just cant show the loneliness feel #2 and #3 looks like normal portraiture style, just cant match with ur words.. models expressions don't match as well. expecially pic 3 she looks like wondering something only.. #4 needless to say.. too wordy #5 it's too acting.. not natural #6 what kissing has to do with the words there? and the pp.. #7 exposure isn't right #8 u know what it is, it isn't sharp at all.. shaky or oof? #9 no comment.. well.. to summarize that, don't think that story based photos is as easy as u just add some words there.. concentrate more on the models' mood expressions and actions as well.. from photography skills point of view, i leave it to all the sifus here. thanks.. these are just my personal comments, no offence. apologies if i say things wrongly.
