First off, my camcorder uses casettes. I got a firewire cable to attach my camcorder to my PC. My PC, detected the camera and it was installed. However, I look into the camera through the PC and saw no files in it. So how do I acquire the DV files?

QUOTE([ - i l l u s i o n s - ] @ Apr 15 2007, 09:46 PM) First off, my camcorder uses casettes. I got a firewire cable to attach my camcorder to my PC. My PC, detected the camera and it was installed. However, I look into the camera through the PC and saw no files in it. So how do I acquire the DV files? You will need to use a video editing software. Adobe premiere, ulead video studio will do. Ulead is easy. Windows movie maker might work too.. saw that option but no experience with it. Get to the capture screen. Press the rec button on the capture screen. The tape will play on your camcorder and what you see in the monitor will be recorded in avi format in your pc. Good luck...
