First of all, there is no idea what the shop has done to get your console working unless you get more details from him. But if the repair is done on the shop, there is a high chance that they will just use the heatgun method to "temporarily" repair it. Well, the risk here is that your console is working from April until May, so in the process, your chip might have suffer a lot of stress due from the first fix.

Anyway, since you have already sent it back to the shop for the 2nd fix, i guess you have no choice to pay them to get your console back and since its already working.

A lesson for all, if you cant get a 1 to 1 exchange, go for the x-clamps replacement method right away. No point sending it back to the shop for the so-called "repairs" they do. God knows what they have done to the console...

You should have claimed from the start because your console only lived for 2 months....

After doing the x-clamps on 1 console, i came to a conclusion to a number of ring of lights sequence. Please do correct me if i am wrong.

2ROL --> 3ROD --> 1ROD

Sorry if i made it unclear but its more to the priority of which error code. Let's say your console has 3ROD and 1ROD, maybe error 0102 with error E74 together... so the console will flash 3 lights instead of 1 light. Because the 3 lights have more priority to the 1 light.

Well no matter what, the 2 lights has the highest priority other than the other 2 lights because it indicates a serious overheating problem.

This is just my personal theory so its subjected to criticism.

Does anybody have a console that turn from 1 light to 3 lights?

This type of shops just pisses off people. What they do best is take your money, what happens after that, they dont give a damn!

Just 1 advice for all those who experience 3RoL or whichever error which is fixable via the x-clamps replacement, if the shop you bought it from doesnt give you a 1-to-1 exchange or the shop doesnt send it back to SG for warranty, go for the x-clamps replacement right away, either do it yourself or ask someone to do it.

I would suggest you get back your console and send it over to somebody to perform the x-clamps replacement. I think bro Tot31 would be a good choice because he is the earliest in performing such kind of operation and likely to have the highest level of knowledge and experience.

Erm.. actually your case is like this.. it shows error 0102 at first, which is before i remove anything from it. So i confirmed the error and did the normal x-clamps procedure, and now i am getting a E73 instead of a 0102....

So my theory is rather simple, your console actually has 2 problem with it which is the 0102 and the E73, but the console only indicate 3 lights instead of 1 light. Hence i was rather surprised that the green light didnt appear at the end of the operation and i get a 1 light in return

What i am doing now i shifting the difference in pressure while keeping the fan up to test if the 3 lights will appear again. But fortunately it didnt so my best bet is the mobo got damaged and only God knows the reason how it happened.

I will try to shift the pressure of the screws to see if i can get it fixed but i am starting to have doubts on it because i have been testing on it this whole day and until late night yesterday... *sorry Djinn, was so tired couldnt continue the conversation*

Will continue furthers test tomorrow, if it still cant be fixed, i guess the heatgun will be a likely solution to the E73, and this confirms that the E73 (Ethernet port error) couldnt be fixed via the x-clamps replacement.

I also did some research on the E73 and this error is very unlikely to happen and if it appears, either a X-Ray of the mobo is needed to detect the error or ... the heatgun which i dont have.

That's why not much people can afford to have a complete fix of the 360. I mean even if with the x-ray, it can only go so far as detection. Detect where the problem lies and that's it. After that, the treatment to fix it is still rather vague or almost impossible. Sad fact but its true.....


I resurrect you by fixing all the x-clamps cross on you lar. I have quite a number of those "blessed" crosses

Actually i faces similar problem. With post x-clamps console or post-fix (whatever method), the console seems to be less responsive to the secondary fix, which is why i came out with a suggestion to all those who have got 3ROL to not to open up the console once the 3 lights appear. Well, you can try plug/unplug all cables just to make sure but the best is try not to open up and check if anything is wrong inside.

And if you wanna perform the operation, please do so after reading the pinned tutorial carefully, and if needed, feel free to ask me, or Djinn or Tot about anything at all. We will be more than glad to provide you with the advice needed.

I am not sure how Bernard deal with this 3RoL problem but I think he doesnt provide a 1-to-1 exchange but he would be sending it over to SG to claim warranty. I think he will be charging for the cost of sending the console there too.
