Erm.. my place is actually very near the LRT station and it will be a hassle for you to look for my house, so i guess it will be convenient for both of us to just meet at the same place later? But then can you wait erm.. a bit further before the station so that i doesnt have to go throught the station to get back to the highway? (there is a small space for the cars before the place we met but then this afternoon i think a lot of cars are parking there... )

Actually if you put it vertically, the heatsinks might be providing a bit of a downforce on the mobo. This is because it is not attach to the metal casing as it used to be. So it will only be attached to the mobo. By putting it vertically, the weight of the heatsinks will heavily result in a downwards force wholly suffered by the mobo.

Btw, have you found a substitute to the rubber landing pad on your console? I really tried as hard as i could looking everywhere for it but still couldnt find it. In fact i didnt even realize it until you told me about it.

Of course there is a small fee for the operation.. i cannot guarantee the success of it but then fortunately all the console i fixed was bless with good recovery, now just hoping that the treatment will last.

Btw i am still working on grandhiz's console which got 3rod and error 0020 and it seems like with the x-clamps remove the error still persists.. will try to use a defibrillator to give it a "shocking" revive soon.

I have fixed just ONCE error 0110 with the x-clamps replacement method and it work out fine... i will have to confirm with the owner of the console later again for any symptoms of 3ROL, just to be sure.

Its best not to use the towel method because there is a big chance that you will expand your clamps faster and thus more swelling on the soldering below the chip. So far, the towel fix is just a temporal solution... there hasnt been any of it who survived long enough after the towel fix....

This is probably the hardest-to-fix console for me. It didnt respond well after the x-clamps got replaced and still persists to show me the 3rol. I did the whole operation another time, cleaning the heatsink & the GPU/CPU chips again. Putting fresh thermal paste again, and the 3rol still lights up.

After a few tries, i finally got it worked up and is undergoing some heavy stress test at the moment.

Error 0021 DVD Drive Time out - Can be caused by problems with a firmware flash. This is also speculated to sometime be caused by a problem with the southbridge chipset on the motherboard.

I doubt that removing the x-clamps will solve this problem but then only m$ knows (do they?!). Error E74 which is a VGA cable error also can be fixed using the x-clamps replacement method so you can actually try it, no harm to your console anyway.

There wont be a 100% fix as long as the 3RoL is still an unknown error like the 0020 and 1020 errors or even the E74 1RoL, you cant really say that it is the fault of the video cable in the case of E74 as i did the operation and it works like a charm.. not forgetting the 0110 error too...

0020 (Not yet known, possibly overheating)
0102 unknown error
E74 AV cable error...
0110 Memory Error / Memory Overheating

But then if your console hasnt undergo the x-clamps removal, then i strongly suggest you opt for it. Tough luck but then i have high hopes that it can be fixed.

Well, some consoles out there are still alive and kicking not experiencing a 3rol before, which means that it is still something that is not inevitable

Anyway, i hope for the best for your console and i just hope that things will turn out fine.

Still i feel a bit helpless here.. if you were nearer i might just go on-site service just for you.

The console is extremely sensitive as i have spend 3 days to tune it to the right pressure to get it working.

Probably the "smacking-the-console" trick might keep it alive eh <--- Plz do not try this

Yea, i have seen a few consoles that i fix with the x-clamps already loosen out. I just need to peel it off with my hands rather than using the long nose plier to use extreme force to pull it out

I guess more cooling is needed in that white box eh
