Hybrid hard disk are new hard disk with flash ram (I think) inside e.g. 256 mb. Supposed to work well with windows vista.

You can google it.

Basically (From googling! Me no expert in hard disk) it is a hard disk with flash memory (e.g. 256 mb flash memory embedded in the hard disk). With such hard disk, non-volatile data can be stored in the flash ram, thus reducing access to the hard disk especially on boot up.

Can be regarded as non-volatile cache memory for the hard disk (only 8 - 16 mb of cache ram in current home-users hard disk and these rams are volatile)

Hybrid HD OEM is out!

Check this news:

However, I think we're gonna have to wait a bit longer......

Finally, a review on hybrid hard drive. The Samsung Spinpoint MH80 with 256mb of NV cache.

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/07/13/sho...ives/index.html

I must say that the review is a bit disappointing. sad.gif Well, maybe have to wait for faster and larger cache......
