Hello,
Ive recently purchased an iphone. So I was wondering if there is any way I can transfer all the older chat history from the old phone to the new one.

Problem is the backup in Android uses Google drive and iPhone restores using iCloud.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

this is Apple's own app to move stuff from android to iOS

dunno if it includes whatsapp. if not, cant you do a backup within whatsapp itself?

What exactly you want to backup? If not mistaken, whatsup already have a backup system linkking to your hp number

Cloud backup cannot be restore to different OS

whatsapp backup system is not linking your hp number,is iCloud if you are using iphone and Google Drive if you are using Android.

if moved to iPhone from Android you will not be able to restore backup from Google Drive on iPhone.

I used the paid apps, it successfully transfer all the media and history to iphone.

I am wondering why at the first place iPhone allow to sign in with Google Account and other accounts under MENU : ACCOUNTS & PASSWORD there, but cannot restore from Google Drive (from Google Account)? whats the sign in google account for? for contact list only?

I can see alot of ppl said there is no way to restore whatsapp from google drive, besides saying via 3rd party app, not even apple self-app "MOVE TO IOS".

Only from android to ios? Cannot transfer from ios to android?

Software is specific : there are 2 versions - android to iOS and iOS to Android
For iOS to android a cheaper but very good way is to use wazzupmigrator

All picture and videos will be restored. You must had done some wrong steps. Did you use the full paid version?

Let me tell you that Whatsapp, backup chat history every day at 4 AM in your phone’s internal storage. So, if you have backup of whatsapp chat history, then you can easily restore chat history from your backups.

Here how to whatsapp data on your Android:

• Simply uninstall WhatsApp on your phone.
• Then re-install WhatsApp on your phone from Play Store.
• Launch WhatsApp and verify your phone number. After verifying your phone number you will be prompted to restore your messages history.
• Simply tap on “Restore” and everything of last 7 days will get restored.

If you do not have any backup, then it is highly recommended that you must use Android Data Recovery Software to restore lost or deleted data from your Android phone.
