Bro, expensive a bit for short term or you want negative issues for long term?
If buy the wrong size and felt not satisfy you will loss the tire value at least 50% once on the road if want to trade back.
Besides that wider tires also will impact on fuel consumption, in long term the cheaper cost wont justify the savings from the tires if include the extra fuel usage over the years. Take example each tires last 40,000km, if each km extra RM0.01 fuel added due to wider tires that is almost RM400 extra.
The savings from the wider tires can get you RM400?

The difference between 195/55 and 185/55 is very small. In fact most saga users go for 195/55 as it is a more common size (easier to find, more variety and cheaper) and also little bit comfier (I can feel the car is marginally more comfortable with 195/55).

For fuel consumption, I don't even notice the increase in fc. Perhaps there is small increase like you mentioned but it is very small (400 over few years is acceptable for most people I believe). The trade-off is that 195/55 should be slightly grippier and hence slightly safer.

I guess it is up to users: slightly safer and slightly more comfortable vs slightly higher fc and slightly heavier throttle. For me all of these are very small differences most people won't notice it. It all come down to 195/55 having more options and people can get what they want.

Engineer spend hours/days mix & match different tyre size for the best balance from comfort, fuel economy, cost & safety reasons.
If tyre size big & cheap why not all just use the bigger size tyre and fit.. Everything need to calculate/consider from sport rim/tyre width/weight, suspension settings, especially newer car safety features like ESC everything are calibrated base on the original tire size come fitted.

Maybe a lot of people think aiya just bigger/wider/smaller 1 size no issue one, but when the negative part/issue come hit later who gonna be the sucker? The tire shop or the owner? Tire shop just wash hand as you just want cheap tires unless you are well educated on the risk.

BTW if your ride is still within warranty changing to other tire size can void your suspension warranty (Includes Steering rack, lower arm, absorbers, driveshaft) worse scenario gearbox warranty also can void if the SC really go into details. Regarding the warranty issue, few of my friends already kena especially when steering rack or lower arm got issues warranty claim got rejected due to tires size not original. Go back tire shop complain, all wash hand. FYI, steering rack is not cheap to replace or repair especially those newer electric type.

I do agree that engineers spend significant amount of time selecting the best tyre size for the car. However, it is not an exact science and based on priorities of the manufacturer and their customers. For instance, the bezza premium 2020 has a size of 175/60R15 which is super rare but it is selected by perodua to please their customers based on their priorities (bigger wheel of 15 inch but only 175 for better fc). Almost everyone is going for 185/55r15 after the first tyre change.

I do agree that changing the size of the tyre may affect different components of the suspension. It is something to consider before changing to different tyre size.

As for warranty, I do agree if warranty can be void due to difference in size of tyres, it is best to stick with the same size during warranty period. However, for the cars that i own so far, all said not going to affect warranty.

New Bezza 15 inches is only 5JJ, that is why i pick Myvi Rim instead. Price wise then i have no idea why 195 cheaper than 185. But since most ppl are recommending me size 185, I have picked that and going to install it this Saturday.

If you have a Bezza, getting a myvi rim would be ok. Since the original size for Bezza is 175/60r15, it is best not to go for a very big change in tyre size. Hence 185/55r15 is just nice. I have a saga and are using 195/55r15, a change from the original size of 185/55r15.

The reason is simple: 195/55r15 is simply more common and have higher demand. Hence manufacturers produce more of it and price is set lower. Similar to why sometimes older pc ram is more expensive than latest ram.

By all mean go for 185/55r15. Are you going for continental cc6?

Used CC6 before, very quiet and comfort but I prefer ES32. How much did you pay?

The price you got is very cheap. How was the installation and balancing (and alignment if you also did alignment)? Also can you share the link of the lazada page here?
