What was the old price? Hope it wasnt too much. Im thinking of getting this but the price can be a bit too much. If I can drop it by a hundred or so maybe it will be better

If I recall correctly, both models were about RM 300.00 to 400.00 cheaper and HP even had a discount code going for a while. I've checked online
and most of the retailers are still selling these 2 models at the old prices. Even here on LYN Garage Sale section, I think a couple of sellers are on
with the old prices still - hope that this helps.

And wait 15 business days for delivery? There are better deals and value to be had outside seriously. HP's supply chain especially
when it comes to shipping can be a bit spotty. We used HP exclusively in my previous organization before migrating to Dell and I
don't think they ever looked back. Again, it's buyers preference if they want to buy from HP for a slightly higher price and slower
shipping - just a week ago, both models were OOS and they are now in stock with a price increase smile.gif

The RPP for sure will be more expensive then retailer price.
But not in this case when HP online offer 15% unlimited discount.
The final price I need to paid for the HP ENVY 13 was less then rm3k with 15% from HP + 7% from shopback + credit card discount.
Moreover it only take 3days to received my laptop after made the booking.
BTW, the price increase was expected with introduce of SST, +rm170 was around 4.4%, still cheaper then GST era.

You clearly got yours for a steal with the discount and shopback deal. How is your experience with notebook so far? I was looking at getting
one for my other half but HP M'sia just annoyed me with their lack of updates with the silk gold color and Intel UHD GPU models. Now they
say an official launch of the Envy 13 will happen in a couple of weeks so let's see ...

Everything was fine except I can't manage to connect to my old external monitor even bought the cable type c to hdmi...

Initially I am like you looking for model without Mx150, however the price different was just around rm150, so better grab it ASAP to avoid sst. You can always off the mx150 if you have any concern about heat. So far my experience with the heat management of envy 13 is good, but so far I haven't play any game with it.

Thanks! My other half loves the newer AH series - looks more polished especially with the Damascus Steel design on the back but HP only has
2 models with the MX150 and in SILVER on sale right now. She wants the SILK GOLD color but HP can't say for sure when they can make them
available. I suppose we'll just have to wait until they do ...

That really sucks - sorry to hear that! The newer AH series Envy 13 models come with 8GB of RAM onboard - only 2 models are available at
the moment. I'm surprised the dealer did not propose the i5 model which is only a bit more expensive than the Ad series model you bought.

when I bought this, I have a tight budget which is max 3k, and this laptop just costs me RM 3099, not bad for a beautiful laptop with decent specs for working, I also have an RHEL VM installed in it for work, and while using it with google chrome, damn look at dos ram usage

AD173TU is an i5 laptop, but without MX150, plus it has 256 GB M.2 SSD

should I try the SD card trick to compensate the low RAM size?

vendors usually dont know what they talking about

really faceplam

so now i just do research then go to shop touch it and decide if i want to buy

yeah, I find it sad and ironic when sometimes us, the consumers, have better knowledge than the sellers/vendors/promoters

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 10 2018, 11:55 PM)
HP Envy 13 has only soldered RAM. Don't trust what seller/promoter say too much

A quick visit at Plaza Low Yat already confirms that sad.gif

Hi,

Is the 10w version of MX150 worst than 940mx?
*
According to this>> http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidi...m309890vsm88506

It is still better than the 940mx lol

I am thinking to buy this HP Envy 13 ah0041tx for my freelance engineering work (at max, minor autocad amendment).
but after reading the comment especially on the lower watt MX150, i feel a bit worried as i myself an occasionally playing games.

secondly, anyone else facing monitor connection problem ? (from my reading in this thread). Are you guys using usb-c hdmi/vga converter ?
