Anyone bought the new facelifted Honda Civic recently?

I asked the SA and they mentioned there is no promotion or discount for the car. =(

Has anyone tried Honda Access Coating?

Would anyone recommend to coat their new cars or just plain old waxing?

That model looks like a Pre-Facelift. look new though.

Did you buy HIP insurance? Fully insured including Stolen
I wrapped mine in Getto located in Subang. Looks quite good. so far so good
*
Based on his car plate, seems recent.

I had my HIP and I got back my car price. Nevertheless, I lost about 10k as a result of that, mainly thru insurance, tinting, and bank interests.

I hope my new Honda stays with me for 10 years.

I posted a CCTV video of my car... it was quite blurry, but you can see they started from boot and worked their way up.

My fuel consumption is about 14.5 km/l. Probably about 60 city and 40 highway?

The strange thing is that, my meter reports about 15.5 km/l but based on my own measurement, distance divide by fuel pump to full, it was 14.5 km/l.

But I am very light footed and doesn't accelerate a lot. I find the fuel efficiency varies greatly depending how you drive.

I just replaced my car battery at the Honda Service Centre. The Panasonic battery lasted 2 years and 8 months. Battery life as checked by Honda says 70%

How much it costs?

I am just wondering, since we heard a few stories of Civic are stolen, how do you guys feel?

Are you worried? Will you be doing things differently to reduce the risk of being stolen?

Haha great suggestion.

I had my 6 months old FD Honda stolen 10 years back. Still got a bit of phobia honestly. I guess I just claim insurance if it is stolen again. Hahaha

How long is the process of claiming from insurance?
*
Took me 3 months. That was also after I follow up diligently with each party and hand delivered all the documents to ensure there is no delay.

Sorry to hear that  you lost your car.

The insurance claim, did u get back the full value amount of the car?
*
Because it was first year under HIP, I got back purchase amount. I still lost like RM10k for the tints, insurance, and bank interests.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Aug 19 2020, 10:44 AM)
From my conversation with polis inspector when make report for lose car due to thefts, get brake lock for better security. Not steering lock.
*
My stolen car has brake lock and from what I have heard, they usually prepared and they typical don't like to give up half way. Better to deter than to stop them from trying.

3 months without car is very painful
*
Very, but I learned to be more humble as anything you gained can be taken away with a blink of an eye. I ended bought and used uncle looking Nissan Sylphy for 10 years before jumping back to my Civic.

Early settlement interest can claim back right? So in the end of settlement with bank, do u still owe bank money due to interest?
*
No I didn't, because the cost of interest for the 9 months is about RM3.5k (if I remembered correctly), this is after they have refunded the total interest due early settlement. Monthly payment was like RM1.2k so after 9 months I actually got more cash to downpay into my next car.

So if you kind of expect the car to be stolen and you didn't invest expensive accessories and protection into your car, it isn't that bad actually. Just take it you rent a new car and you pay like RM1.1k per month to use that car. This is only applicable for first year though.

Seems like still ok la for those ppl regularly change new car right? As long as dont spend money modify the car. HIP first 10 yrs cover full sum insured. Mayb gain more than trade in to change new car. I used to hope my previous hybrid car get stolen 😂 can get more money than trade in
*
Hahaha indeed. If your new car is stolen, you lose money but if your old car gets stolen, you gain some money because the insured sum is usually higher than actual selling price.

I was given Berjaya. Can we choose? My agent didn’t let me choose.

You can choose, I asked my agent to quote me two different companies.
