Anyone know tips how to remove dents on door caused by people opening their door too wide? The dent is not that big but noticeable under certain lighting angle.

Other than hot water + plunger method.

This the shop. Better leave small dint repair to the expert. But not cheap also.

I visited them once. But didn't fix it.

Unless you really sayang ur car just because of a small tiny hole, then go ahead.

I think those opt for 0w-20 engine oil into their turbo civic is going to be disaster.
0w-20 meant for low rev and save fuel and it provide the least protection.
I don't think the engine will last long if you always use the turbo.

For those who always high rev and drive fast, better get 5w-30 or 10w-30 for better protection. 10w-30 also quite fuel economical also.

Seriously, how often do you run at maximum boost? If you drive at the track, or almost always run at 4K rpm or higher, by all means, go get the higher priced 10w30 to protect your engine.

90% of the drivers here are sensible enough to just save their money, and just get the 0w-20 - which still protects the engine properly. You can still drive hard, sure, but 99% of the time I drive, I just drive normally to save on fuel costs.

as per the FAQ on page 1: What type of engine oil should I use for my new Honda Civic?
Honda recommends that you use a Genuine Honda Motor Engine Oil or another commercial engine oil of suitable SAE viscosity for the ambient temperature of the country. Your Honda Civic is compatible with 0W-20, 0W-30, 5W-30 and 10W-30 viscosity rating oils. However, it is recommended that you use 0W-20 oil as it is formulated to improve fuel economy.

I just trying to give an idea what you getting with 0w-20. Some people might not consider these things when getting this oil.

I afraid those Msia marketing people just copy paste from US Honda without considering hot climate here.
0w-20 might work well is winter country but not so here.

Dude, the engine oil normal operating temperature will run at more than 90°C. I highly doubt there are any difference (hot climate, cold climate) that affects engine oil needs - especially if it's 0w20. Anyway, their summers are essentially the same temperature as ours - Texas, Nevada etc. So in effect, the 0w20 oils are all-season engine oils - they don't have to change oils for different seasons.

I think you need to stop thinking that higher viscosity oils provide better all-year round protection in all situations. It's really up to the user to choose which engine oil is needed for their car, but I think users who are real street racers, would definitely know which engine oil is better for their use.

Your statement that 0w20 oil for turbo "is going to be disaster", "provide the least protection" and "don't think the engine will last long if you always use the turbo" is essentially wrong for 90% of the current Civic users.

Could you elaborate  on "if you always use the turbo"?  Can we drive a turbocharged engine without using the turbo?
*
Yes I know civic turbo is trigger after 3.xK RPM. Yes I believe you can drive without turbo if you keep the RPM below the treshold. (I'm not turbo expert).

You testing me or really newbie ? tongue.gif

Erm...... I do apologise bro but the turbo for civic kicks in at 1500 rpm. But it is staggered. You will see it in your turbo meter what I mean. Basically it windmills itself until you exert more and the engine pushes harder, thus the engine would generate more exhaust due to the extra fuel burnt. It would translate to the turbo where the exhaust flow would push more air into the engine.
*
Ya ka ? hmm.. 1500 rpm ? Need to double checked again. My salesman told me 3K pulak. During test drive also feel the power when above 3k.
Thanks for the info.

Anyway, I drive 1.8s.

Cannot be 3000rpm lar.. Civic turbo max torque 220nm @ 1700rpm. So the turbo can kick in below 1700rpm. Without turbo a 1.5 engine cannot generate 220nm @ 1700rpm.
*
Bro.. from this dyno chart .. torque max at 4500 - 5500.

I still remember the power for this Civic turbo is very linear and don't jump high suddenly.

Guys, wanna ask about my Civic 1.5 headlamp. Currently damn hard to see. So I plan to change it to HID. Where do you guys recommend to do?

I plan to use OSRAM. Some say use, NIGHT BREAKER LASER - H11 for high beam/low beam and H4 for the fog lamp. Any idea on the cost as well? Thanks. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

If you change the housing, you risk losing the headlight height adjustable function.
Just change bulb better.

Hi all Civic Sifus! Do you guys find the new Honda Civic is bumpy?

Have tested the car last week but the distance was very short and in the housing area so couldn’t feel that, need feedbacks from you all.
*
Bumpy soft or hard?
I would say it depends on the tyre pressure.
Overall it is quite ok.
