Hello Guys..
Is it worth to buy the FC Honda Civic in the year 2018??
Or waiting for the facelifted version is more worth??
*
QUOTE(Duckies @ Dec 5 2017, 08:52 AM)
When is the next face lifted coming out? Tak sure weh.
*
Rumour mill says Civic facelift will come out in 2019 in the US, and might come with wet DCT, similar to Civic in China. Take it with a grain of salt of course.

My TCP is doing 6k km atm, with serviced A during 5k km using it for about 4months soon. 100% city drive and mostly on RON95. Daily travel around 20km thru and back from work.

i have been not using ECON mode for 3 weeks and 2 full tank of petrol. My recorded was 11.5km/l compared ECON mode on which is roughly 10.7km/l

My observation is on ECON the car is pretty much underpowered in normal city move and stop driving. Hence sometimes over-step for need of more power consumes more petrol.

After 1 service my FC is getting better. Before Service A with econ sometimes can be as low as 9.5km/l

Let me know if my stats are really low which i think its low. should be at least 12km/l imo.
*
Really low bro. I wonder if you encounter quite a bit of traffic? I don't feel econ is underpowered in normal stop & go traffic, but my driving conditions / habit might defer from yours.

I am averaging around 12-13km/l on city traffic. Lowest ever is 10km/l as per my siggy.

Oh, i turn on ECON 99% of the time.

Bro do try off the ECON mode. I felt its better. The car is more responsive and hence u can lift foot off and let it roll during jam and go situation.

I asked SC about my FC and they say its normal and diagnosis didn't alert any engine fault.

My daily travel traffic is so so. But not straights, need turn left and right and cut thru housing areas. What's ur petrol? current mileage and oil choice?
*
I do turn if off from time to time, especially if I want to overtake traffic at old trunk roads, but don't really like coz it's a bit twitchy compared to ECON in normal driving. Slight pressure on the accelerator will jerk the car forward - more power yes, but not ideal for daily driving for me. I prefer a more sedentary drive smile.gif

Anyway, using Shell RON97, sometimes V-Power Racing. Current mileage around 23,000KM - Honda 0W-20 as recommended by Honda booklet for fuel saving.

My daily drive is only 12km from home to office to home. Just some traffic when going back from work (around 5 minutes of traffic), but going to work takes about 6 minutes, going back home takes about 10 minutes.

Hi. Just got a mate 10 pro but my civic couldn't detect the phone when I connect to it. It will just say no device connected when I select source and phone even when the cable is attached. Can anyone teach me how?

I was previously using an iPhone. Phone is android 8.0.0 now.
*
A few things to try:

1. Make sure connected to the usb near to the driver side (1.5A)
2. Use the original USB-C cable which came with your phone.

Yup. Using the correct port and the original cable that came with the phone.

Is it android 8.0.0 is not supported?
*
Not that I see online. Should be usable. Maybe you inadvertantly disabled/disallowed the connection between phone and car?

May need to do hard reset on the HU

was thinking whether want to buy new CIVIC 1.5 turbo or accord 2.4 second hand... like Civic got parking brake hold so much. Accord just all normal function only. Any suggestion from your guy?
*
1.5 Civic turbo is much more fuel efficient than 2.4 Accord due to the lower CC, even with Turbo, and because of the lower weight.
The Accord has less bells and whistles of course, compared to Civic simply because the Civic is a newer car
Accord has larger cabin space (D segment vs C segment)

just go to test drive Civic 1.5 Turbo vs Accord 2.0 both car. Civic power is far more better than Accord 2.0. Actually the cabin space after i view yes is bigger... but Civic also large enough for comfort.

Accord the win part is the seat very comfortable, and the sun blind at behind is really good
for me i think i will use it... i everyday waiting traffic light i also put my gear to N and pull my handbrake... so i think if got still function for me is useful
*
Auto Brake Hold is extremely useful to me and I use it whenever I have traffic / sit at traffic lights. I usually leave it enabled until I reach my destination, or just turn it off and back on again when needed.

I miss it whenever I drive my company car which does not have this function.

are u sure? my accord 2.4 FC is just same with my bro 1.5T  brows.gif
*
If both drive spiritedly, then fuel consumption will be similar. But if driven frugally, the 2.4L is no match to the small CC turbo engine. Can you even get 15km/l in City driving and 19km/l in highway? smile.gif

I've tried recommended tyre pressure, and I have tried increasing it upwards of 37psi. Still floaty no matter what. Speed >170kmph then start to lose confidence already
*
Should only be 32psi. If higher, confirm floaty coz your tyres are overinflated due to mostly centre portion is gripping the road.

Anyway, it can also be due to MC5. Try to change to PS4 for better grip.

If you’re already using PS4 and the recommended tyre pressure, then maybe you’re just not used to driving fast lol!

There is no foolproof security system. You may be afraid with all these viral videos, but our cars are not the only one stolen - it’s not even in the top 10 most stolen cars in Malaysia.

This is why added supplementary security systems (GPS, brake lock, Card System etc) are a plus, just to guard against any of this happening - worst case scenario, this is also an added benefit of getting the HIP insurance package, at least you’ll get 100% of the agreed insured amount to help cover your losses.

Type r consider under this group as well ?
Want to ask what is the small pin for which stick inside the front cup holder there ?
*
You got yourself a Type-R? Rich man detected! laugh.gif

The small pin is to insert your key to release the gear - In case no battery, and can’t release the gear from “P”.

Hi all,

New comer here. collected my red ruby last friday.

would like to check something. Anyone know the reserve fuel info once the fuel meter at 0. or maybe the reserve is already included in the indicator. so once 0 means no fuel at all.

please assist.
*
The answer to your question is listed in the FAQ - test done by an American Civic X, but should be the same.

yes bos. found it in FAQ. tqvm. been reading the FAQ twice before this, still cannot record this information. hahaha.

next is about the maintenance minder. will it display the remaining oil life milage once the oil need to be change, or from 1st day we receive our car? mine now showing "----". suppose to be like this? Just receive the car so not sure whether the fresh 10k milage will appear after the 10k service or since the car delivered.
*
Apparently the new Civics has the maintenance minder starting with “-----“ until it has been driven for a few thousand KMs as the driving computer is learning your driving habits. so not to worry and just enjoy the drive smile.gif

Just wondering anyone got complaints by passenger that the passenger seat is very low? ROFL!

some elders complaint passenger seat should able to adjust higher
*
Yes... It's a bit hard for the elderly to enter & exit the car, especially at the rear passenger seats. Front passenger, still ok even if a bit low.

Well I tried to contact and made inspection with the warrannty claim supervisor. They denied it is manufacturing defect, hence I am asking here whether any one that has similar issues that I can make reference too?
I am extremely disappointed with the manufacturing quality.
*
Pity you bro. It really seems like a manufacturing defect. Did the supervisor provide any explanation or accuse you of anything?
