Hello Guys/Gurls,

My car just got problem with the system error. I send my car to service center and found out that there are problem with the wiring. They told us that 1 of the wire broken. Is it possible to claim warranty for Engine Wire Harness? They quote me around RM1.8k for the repair...  cry.gif
*
Mouse bite? tongue.gif Anyway if really not your fault (no modification done etc), then I'd try to push for warranty coverage. If you have done some modification, depends on SC I guess... Anyway, 1.8K to replace is ok, considering that the VW Golf Engine Wire Harness replacement went viral a few years ago coz it costs RM52k if I remember correctly...

Found it! https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3953475 sweat.gif

Hi all, need help. My steering control (to seek tracks) suddenly doesn't work with my phone anymore, so I can't switch tracks with my steering wheel control regardless I'm in Bluetooth mode or Apple Carplay mode.

I've tried factory reset my HU because can't seem to solve the issue. After reset, I can't seem to find the HU on my phone's Bluetooth menu anymore.  rclxub.gif

Any ideas?

Enable bluetooth again on the HU?

QUOTE(zester @ Nov 20 2017, 03:20 AM)
Guys, a little cerita from my end and hopefully fellow owners might find this useful. Not sure this has happened before cause I stop visiting the threads for sometime.

Rear left of the car started making some clunking sound since a couple of weeks ago... Since service B (at 12k mileage, Too soon if you ask me) was about due, I thought I'll wait til last week and do both same time

Turns out the shocks had a defect... SC ordered the parts expected to arrive next week.

Now the highlight of the story

Walked into SC and got ushered over by this SA. Told him my Service B poped up and it's due for an oil + oil filter change.

Then he proceed to start keying in stuff on the computer... Lots of clicking here and there and that caught my curiosity, I decided to take a peek at the monitor to see whats going on and why a simple service B would require so much inputs.

The total amount kept getting higher and higher... from 300+ to 450 and he was still at it! I was like WTF?! I interrupted and asked whats going on.. Why is the price 400+. He was like ohhh I am giving you 20k service package mah. plus cooling coil needs service, Wheel needs to rotate aligned and balance etc.

I was starting to get furious and told him off saying I am here to do my Service B which is Oil + Oil filter. My millage is currently at 12k, I went for my 10k last month. There's no need to do 20k. Are you out of your mind?

I was thinking either this guy is super greedy or completely clueless. Perhaps a combination of both

Anyway what follows was like 30 mins of debate telling me how he was right. I should do it together. No need to make so many trips. The other SC gave me wrong advice. Even went as far as saying Salesman gave me wrong advice! He will putar belit like the snake on hot coal! It's ok to make a mistake but to cover up with illogical nonsense trying to assume I am a fool is the most insulting thing ever!

A few example was. I ask him, if you insist its the same thing why Periodic Service has Oil Service has two seperate section instead of just one section like other non TC cars. He pause for a while and said because PM is service for everything else but Service A/B is oil only. They are different things so needed to be indicated differently! I was just simply awestruck and just stood speechless. Another example was he said "don't believe me, lets go to Honda website and see for yourself". I quickly smiled knowing I was right... Then when he say the page. He quickly twist again and tells me the timing is not correct one... depends on when you need to service... It's just plain nonsensical and irrelevant.

Anyway I decided not to argue further and told him to follow exactly what I need... And even then he snuck the wheel alignment, engine oil treatment and cleaner in. I told him to remove the wheel alignment. I don't need it since I did it less than 3 months back. He went on for another 10 mins telling me why I should do it.

Thankfully, he wasn't around when it was my car's turn and the manager took over. They did a good job and even found nails/patched during the service which I was pleasantly surprised since I felt that this is out of today's job scope.

Anyway guys. Please be careful with what they tell you to do and more importantly, it's a good idea to know a SA that can take care of you.
*
Agreed. Some SC really want to do extra work, dunno why they do this since most of them are overworked. Normally I just do what is needed, and don't do anything extra. You did the right thing and not wasting money by doing the Preventative Maintenance, since you did it just 1 month ago. No need to debate with the SC, and just speak to the Service Manager if things get out of hand. If the Service Manager also recommends that way, record their statement and make an official complaint to Honda Malaysia.

At least my SC now knows not to mess around with me coz they immediately only put the mandatory items, without any optional/additional items on my service chit.

Maybe do like the others mentioned, and try to switch petrol brand? Don’t think it’s a CVT issue coz there are no clutches/gears to be shifted.

If it’s something consistent e.g always happens whenever you go beyond 4000rpm, then you should go to Honda SC and let them test it out. Who knows, it might be the CVT sad.gif

For those who wanted a better performance from your CVT, use the Honda HCF-2 Ultra transmission fluid, skip the local version.

Tried and true, I have used the ATF, MTF, and also the CVTF since my family has all the variants around. It's much more expensive, but the improvement is totally worth it. (I know, you guys must be thinking, CVT? How to improve? Already damn smooth).

Where to buy? Buy at Honda stockist and bring it to SC when it is due. Not all SC will accept, but I have no problem with mine.

Not Civic though, she bought City.

Even 2nd year, the sum insured is still at 132k?

City sum insured at 132K? Confirm tipu. The car itself is less than 100k...

My renewal notice stated there estimated sum insured 132k, then add windscreen coverage Rm3k additional Rm450 .. NCD deduct 45% = Rm2576.58.
I quoted AIG online, NCD 45% , sum insured 119k + windscreen coverage 3k = Rm450 total = Rm2.2k with free delivery of road tax via myeg.

Contemplating which one to go now.

Guys or gals, any comment or opinions ? Anyone claim HIP b4? How's their service?
*
You can tell them to revise the sum insured. RM132k for 2nd year is ridiculous as that is actually brand new car estimate. Windscreen coverage of RM3k is also too excessive.

Thanks for your input, I'll lower down the sum insured to 115k-119k and the windscreen coverage to 1.5k.
*
Actually, you just get your SA to quote, or your car dealer insurance department to revert the proper insurance price for the car. Windscreen coverage also depends on them to advise, but definitely not RM3k la.

QUOTE(Kuniang @ Nov 27 2017, 04:35 PM)
Wouldn't it be prudent to insure more for the first 5 years even though you have to pay higher premium to safeguard against total loss/theft due to interest incurred/balance loan?
*
No, because in the event of you over insuring, the insurance company will only pay out the acceptable market rate for the car, even for HIP. Honda & HIP has a guideline on acceptable sum insured for the year of your Honda car. In short, you are just wasting your money paying the additional premium.

If and only if you are following their sum insured guideline based on the age of your car. If like that, what’s stopping me from insuring 200k and then my car suddenly “stolen” tongue.gif

I got my car last year Dec 2016, so this is consider 2nd year right. How come no reduce one.. I also pelik.

Somehow I think someone is lying. Using ISM value, it’s supposed to be RM106,900 for 2016 TCP.

Don't have any spare key inside the car.

After I off the engine and lock my car I walk back to my house. The light is still on since civic is auto light. But after around 30 sec the light will automatically off.

But for the next day morning. I saw my car light is on. Include day light and the projector headlights. ( I don't bring the car key near by the car ). So I walk back to get the car key to try to open the door. But I can use the alarm to open the car door. I need to open the door by using the key.

And after this , I will manually turn off the light before I off my engine.

But today morning I saw my car light is on again.
Tomorrow will back to sc check

Wonder if you accidentally set to the force on drl instead of auto... thus it didn't turn off by itself.
*
^this. Seems that you did not set your lights on auto, but DRL/Headlights mode. When in the morning, you pressed the unlock button, therefore the lights turned back on?

Must be the battery. Not sure why some car's battery really bad. Mine (touch wood) still going strong after 1.5 years & 23090km. I wonder if the driving conditions is affecting it...

Anyway, you can call Honda HIP or use the Honda App to call for assistance. A team will be dispatched to replace the battery

Hi sifus! Planning to change my tyre to PS4, anyone changed recently? How much did you get it for and where?

One more thing; the default tyre is 215/50, but if I use 215/45 what would be the consequences?
*
QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 30 2017, 03:52 PM)
More bumpy ride, since less tire profile.
*
^this. Also, use this to calculate https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/ you didn't mention your rim size though...

If using 215/50R17, your odometer speed will be wrong by -3.5%. When your odometer is 100 km/h, your actual speed will be 96.5 km/h
If using 215/45R18, odometer difference is negligible (+0.4%)
