By the way, anyone did ceramic pro coating, paint protection film (ppf) & tinting to your civic?

- What are your thoughts on ceramic pro coating & ppf? Necessary?
- Any recommended shops or any contacts for great deals?
*
Ceramic coating is not scratch proof. Can DIY ceramic coating. The solution cost is just around rm 30 to 100. High profit business. Nowadays can find shop offer rm300 to 600 for the coating at not throat cutting price d.

PPF got PVC vs TPU. TPU is the type self healing. Expensive bcoz still new, sure kena potong. Raw material cost for 1.5meter width TPU around rm150 per meter run. A sedan needs around 15 meter run tpu = rm2250 before extra profit from the shop. U wont get this cheap price for TPU unless ur fren do it for u without big profit or u buy the raw material around rm2250 n find ppl to install for u

So do you do coating on your civic? Or actually doesn't matter.
Any recommended tinting shops with good deals for 3M / vkool / huper optik?
*
I bought the ceramic coating solution, do it myself half way. Then noted there is some not so obvious stain that i cant remove it myself, i send for coating at ALVA for rm588, thought that the stain can polish away with machine but it x come out. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Should hv just finish the coating myself. Wasted some money there. Later on i saw more cheaper coating offer came out at fb advert.

Im the type not willing to waste money on coating bcoz in the end the car will get scratched n better save the money to repaint to other more striking color, eg orange, yellow or blue

I did. Rm3900 for coating plus tinted. They give free PPF for headlamp, side mirror n door scuff. Itโ€™s 7 years free maintenance. Well as others said it is really watermark magnet. Just did two weeks ago. So far it look great. Need to wash the car weekly if rain season mean. But after wash itโ€™s look glossy n nice. The coating itself is rm3500 n tinted is rm400. So for 7 years itโ€™s rm500 per year n I donโ€™t need to send polish or wax. Just send to them two times a year for free touch up. I calculated this way n take it. Hope itโ€™s worth it

How long the shop guarantee the coating hydrophobic effect?

Itโ€™s depend on usage they said. Some can tahan till 6 months. But whenever u feel itโ€™s no more hydrophobic u can send for recoat. For free. So I planned to recoat two times per year.
*
Fair enuf, like sign up for 7 yrs maintenance package. Allow u to apply maintenance coat multiple times without extra charges. The hydrophobic effect last for few months r normal. Got ppl go to screw the coating shop bcoz expect 7 yrs maintenance free hydrophobic effect ๐Ÿ˜‚

There are some complaints around the new facelift model . for tcp spoilerlight issue, steering sound.

I would recommend you to research and evaluate personally and dont fully depend on those complaints to evaluate your purchase. Complaints from Lemon Unit Drivers are always more visible to public than those drivers with no issue with the car (usually silent).

Also all brands and cars have lemon units
*
Spoilerlight is what issue? Steering sound u mean steering rack failure in FL?

My trunk lid got nut sound rolling inside when open or close the lid. The time i send the car for service the issue had disappeared n the technician cant find the loose body

Hi Everyone,

I was thinking to change my car as I was diagnose with slip disc with permanent back pain. My current car, Honda Jazz, give me very bad back pain if I drove long distance with it. As per doctor advise, he advise me to change car with softer suspension and good lumbar support.

My first instinct is to change to Toyota Corolla Altis, as most of the review I read/view say the car give good comfortable drive. I test drive it and it felt better but the test drive is not long driveย  sweat.gif

For the comparison, I went to Honda showroom and test drive the new Civic, and the turbo engine somehow pull me from Toyotaย  sweat.gifย  sweat.gif and in short test drive, it felt same in terms of comfort with Corolla.

So I want to ask fellow Civic owner, is Civic is comfortable for long drive?
*
Wear lumbar support help my slip disc. Can buy from lazada. Im 190cm. I change to civic from b segment car bcoz i found my back comfort with civic tcp seat. The seat can tilt the front upward to support my thigh when my left foot put at the foot rest over the left side. Although x70 is suv, but its left foot rest is not designed for tall guy, n x70 seat the front cant tilt upward to support my thigh. If x70 seat shift to back to rest my left foot at the foot rest, the adjusted steering will be too far to reach. Tall guy better dont get x70.

U need to test the seat yourself. I never test drive other c segment ๐Ÿ˜‚ bcoz honda service centre is near my house n i used to drive high torque car (my previous car is hybrid n fun to drive in city. Turbo torque does not kick in immediate like hybrid)

thanks for the input bro  smile.gif

Im 185cm, so almost as tall as you  nod.gif

yeap, I test the seat and tilt front upward really makes my seating position comfortable. Can you share the lumbar support you buy from lazada? I search in lazada lumbar support and been bombarded with so many products  sweat.gif

Koyoto. I saw good review n bought it. I wear it almost everyday after getting up from bed. Now i can drive long distance, 4hours with no worsening of backache

Hi guys. Just wanna share my experience in a shopping mall.

Iโ€™ve witnessed an attempted car theft in ioi mall putrajaya. The thief was trying to steal a brand new white civic when i was walking pass the car. I thought it was odd that the civicโ€™s alarm went off without anybody around or inside the car (windows not tinted), so i stopped & stared at the car. Suddenly, i noticed a man ducking at the driverโ€™s door. Knowing he was seen, the culprit quickly got up then walked very fast into a blue car with very dark tinted windows that parked just behind the civic. The scary thing was my car parked right opposite the culpritโ€™s car!ย  So I hurriedly left the parking, and once i was outside the mall i called the police straightaway. Throughout journey home, i kept glancing at my rearview mirror because i was so worried of being followed.

This experience kind of makes me on edge. Knowing honda civic is one of top cars get stolen, plus witnessing it with my own eyes really adds to the anxiety.

So, Iโ€™m just wondering is it worth it to invest in pricey steering locks (e.g. stoplock ultima priced at rm699) or raslok? Iโ€™ve read somewhere it took 119 noisy seconds for an expert to break the stoplock.

Anyone has any experience using stoplock ultima or raslok?

Iโ€™m planning to use steering wheel lock together with a pedal lock from now on. Is it too much? Iโ€™m also considering to replace my current steering lock with a higher quality one.

The civic that almost got stolen did not use any steering lock. I knew it because the windows are not tinted so i could see the inside of the car very clearly. Maybe thats why itโ€™s appealing to the thief?
*
I dont put important thing inside the car n dont spend money modify the car. Expect to claim insurance once stolen ๐Ÿ˜‚
The only security i install is gps tracking, shifted from my old car. I dont put any extra lock by hoping less damage once the police found my car. I do use the keyless key signal shield pouch sometimes. But this pouch is inconvenience if u dont hv big pocket ๐Ÿ˜‚

bro, where u bought the GPS tracking? can recommend?
*
U survey n decide. Nothing 100% prevent car stolen. It depends on u prefer ur car to be found in possible bad shape or claim insurance ๐Ÿ˜‚ n also if u like the chance that possible catch the thief n see his face. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Mine is CSE connex. Need to buy the device n pay annual subscription for support

Better look for the gps tracking that with support, the call centre will alert u when there is sudden loss of device signal, battery disconnected, car towed, alarm trigger or engine ignition without presence of ID tag. Im not sure CSE still retain all this features or not

Motorbike. Chrome does give some reflection. If all chrome deleted car looks darker at night. Old uncle aunty may not aware ur car in the dark ๐Ÿ˜‚ i think quite logic but i had wrapped the upper windows edge chrom with black sticker, left door handle n rim chrome at the side

Are you worried? Will you be doing things differently to reduce the risk of being stolen?
