Only RM 20? I went to Honda Stockiest @ Paramount and was quoted RM 80 just for the original rubber. Whole set will cost near to RM 300. Which stockiest RM 20? Mine going to change soon.

Thanks
*
Ha3! Last I changed the rubbers was back 6 years ago iinm on the old FD2. The price was indeed around RM20 for 1, less than RM50 for both. Maybe the price increased somewhere along the way.

Lol. Ya i just called Honda Peringgit Old Klang Road. One set wiper rubber ori - about RM 80.

if Full set wiper will cost RM 400++. Need to order. Damn expensive.  hmm.gif
*
No need the full set wiper la, unless yours somehow gets stolen. If your wiper start streaking, just change the rubbers. Good as new.

My poor civic got bang today. Just to ask, should I go Original sg long Honda body repair or normal body repair shop?

Question in my head:
1. Does outside normal body repair shop fix will void warranty and Honda original body repair shop will not void?
2. Is the sg long Honda body repair shop (beside Honda 3s SC) under Honda company?
*
Claim insurance - always go for Honda body repair. They’ll change to ori Honda items.

Pay your own - up to you. It’s not so much warranty or not, but how sure are you they will use original Honda items and not OEM items hmm.gif

normally how long would it take for damage like this if claim insurance?  ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif

Not sure. Is it your own fault or the other party? Normally even if claim your own insurance, might not be that long actually. Around 1 month including waiting for the parts?

Claim other ppl warranty. But ppl are telling me those claim insurance body repair workshop will usually swap out ur working parts to faulty parts so u will keep coming back to fix the car. is it true?
*
For Honda workshop, I doubt so. They are swamped with cases anyway, doubt they need to do those kind of things. If bawah pokok kind of shop, maybe la.

If claim somebody else’s insurance, go Honda la for peace of mind. Confirm ori parts and they’ll really change what’s needed, rather than just “ketuk”.

Which brand more better if compare for high heat rejection?
*
Very subjective and difficult to answer. Each brand has their pro and cons. Best if you read/ask at the dedicated tint thread https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3053984

I use Llumar, but last when I did gather information on tint done by Civic owners, it was quite evenly split between Llumar, Huper Optik, Raytech & VKool. So, to each his own smile.gif

Best story that I know so far on RV - happened to my bro-in-law’s dad who is quite rich. Bought a brand new S-Class Merc back in 2007 iinm for RM600K++. Used it for 2 years and got tired of it, so decided to change. Sold the car for RM200K laugh.gif

Makes sense, but changing oil filter at mere 7000km is like so extreme hmm.gif So you reckon changing it every time you change new engine oil/service your car ?
*
On the old FD2, we used to change the engine oil (mineral/semi/fully) every 5,000KM including the oil filter. When the FB came out, engine oil & oil filter was changed every 10,000KM.

Recently, even the new Hybrid Honda City's oil filter is only required to be changed every 20,000km. So I guess, we don't need to change the oil filter that frequent anymore. I read somewhere that oil filters generally have a long lifespan, and the longer it's used, the more efficient it becomes.

Too long, and it'll be clogged though, so changing every 20,000km (Maintenance B ONLY) is a must, but any more frequent (Maintenance A & B), is simply a waste of money...

I don't see why, it's not like telling other u got GPS installed will invite others to try to steal your car???
*
If thieves know what security system you installed, it’s a step thieves need to do to disable and run away with the car.

If nobody knows you install any additional security system, thieves won’t try to disable it and just run away with the car. You can still track it.

Hence, only idiots tell people what additional security systems they performed on the car... anyway, anyone wants to tell what security systems they deployed other than brake lock tongue.gif

Anyway - what additional info you want to know other than the info I provided at post #3?

Guys I enable android auto on the unit and reboot and this keep coming out. How do i fix it?
*
Can you please tell us what you did step by step until you encountered this error?

Just want to make it clear:

1. The HU supports Android Auto
2. Android Auto needs to be intalled on your phone, not the HU
3. Waze also needs to be installed on your phone, not the HU.

Read the FAQ on Page 1 for more info & installation procedures.

I saw android auto is disable under HU setting. So I enable it. After enable still unable to detect android auto so I hold down power button and select reboot. After reboot this came up. And yes I have android auto installed on my phone
*
If that’s the case, reboot HU - choose the 1st option - but don’t plug in the phone.

I think you may have plugged in your phone / USB drive while restarting? It maybe have somehow read there is an update on the USB drive / phone.

Anyhow, no need to manually disable/enable the Android Auto on the HU. Once the HU detects a compatible Android Auto device, it’ll ask you what to do and just select enable Android Auto for this device.

Yes. My phone is plugged in when I reboot. I tried the first option but keep coming back to this screen. It won’t go back to Honda logo anymore. doh.gif
*
Unplug the phone then only reboot? Try either hard restart - press power button longer than 10s - failing which, bring in to SC.

Just a guess - you have an android update done on your phone and left the update file on your phone?

I want to update my HU map. Using 1.5 TCP. Follow the instruction in Garmin website but my 16 GB pen drive doesn’t want to be detected. Any idea how?
*
Must be formatted in FAT32. If using Windows 10, a bit problematic. Need to use command line etc.

Additionally, some pendrive can't be used - dunno why but a few of my pendrive mmg cannot be used to update the Garmin application on the PC. I use some cheapo freebie USB pendrive only can update.

-edit- latest Garmin map update for the TCP is 2018.0.

Bros, like to ask my car is only 100+ km mileage. I'm thinking to go up genting this weekend. Would it be ok to do so? Will it affect the long term driving pattern since my car havent done its first service (less than 1000km)
*
No problem. The old way of thinking that keep low speeds, cannot rev high at all etc is outdated. Just 2 things to avoid to do during the first 1000km - it’s listed in your manual & in the 1st page, 1st post, 1st FAQ smile.gif

Katsana no 24/7 monitor which is a big minus for me 😔
*
Need to be slightly more rajin - every day after park, set zone alarm (zone out). Need to enable/disable every time you park to be safe. Since you can set unlimited times, it's a bit of a hassle, but doable.

I agree that Connex is simpler, but Katsana has it's own advantages - track driving usage, driving patterns, always on etc.

Pretty interesting statistic from Katsana Website . I wonder what is the statistic for stolen Honda cars.  hmm.gif

Copy & paste from the site,
1 car is stolen every 24 minutes

Locate stolen vehicles without breaking the wallet. At KATSANA, we are drivers too, and we understand what it takes to keep our vehicles safe. So we developed KATSANA TrackTM, for regular users, an efficient and affordable car tracking solution

Most popular stolen cars in Malaysia

General Insurance Association of Malaysia(PIAM) revealed that 19,307 vehicles were stolen in 2016. The highest ratio of theft is lead by Toyota Vellfire where 114 vehicles were stolen. This is then followed by several popular 4×4 vehicles, such as Toyota Hilux (2nd place), Mitsubishi Pajero (3rd place) and Ssang Yong Rexton(8th place)

The rest of the stolen car list is filled by popular cars such as Proton Putra, Proton Perdana, Nissan Vanette, Proton Satria, and Toyota Liteace

Found this URL link from HRV recall news. Guys, you might want to check it out. Apparently some Civic 2016, are affected. Click bottom left (List of affected cars) to check.

AFFECTED PARTS:
Engine Components
Please confirm the status of your vehicle using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN / CHASSIS Number).

https://productrecall.honda.com.my/
*
I think this is related to the 3 way hose thingy. Affected owners should already get their letters to replace them.

For those of you using dash cam, do you plug it into the USB at the front? I'm usually using that for Android Auto so not sure where to plug the dash cam.
*
Use the 12V DC Plug aka Cigarette Lighter plug. Normally dashcams would provide the adapter for it.
