Maybe do like the others mentioned, and try to switch petrol brand? Don’t think it’s a CVT issue coz there are no clutches/gears to be shifted.e

I pump petronas since day 1 never happened before now 2nd time in a row already right after i pump full tank...damn frustrating..the jerk is so bad that feels like when u r iding a bicycle and the chain gets stuck

Sounds like that petrol station’s refill fuel tanker may accidentally pump diesel into station’s petrol tank a little bit or something 😅. Like for 5 mins tanker refill then suddenly his light bulb light up and opps.

Anyhow it is just speculation. Could very well be CVT. personally I always try to use shell.

No worries, after I got a call from him, we were able to pin point some steps to cross check. It will take some time but It seems the issue is considerably small and he will be able to hopefully solve it in due time.

Thanks so much for your advise will see how it goes

The plastic top cover is just mainly for aesthetic use only (and serve a little bit towards reducing the engine noise); and bottom one mainly for aerodynamic purposes. You can live without it and the car would still work fine.

What happened that cause you the need to replace these 2 items? Even moderate crash also unlikely to damage these 2 parts.
Here's the fact about misfueling diesel into your petrol driven car. Diesel is heavier than petrol, meaning petrol will be floating above it. So when the fuel pump picks up fuel from bottom, it will suck up the diesel first. You will pretty much face the after effect almost immediately after trying to restart the engine.

Vice versa, if misfueled petrol into diesel car, still got hope, as the petrol will float above the diesel. So the pump will still pick up diesel, just that need to keep the tank above half and constantly top up with diesel until the petrol fully evaporates. Or top up with certain fuel system cleaners which has additives to allow the diesel and petrol to dissolve into each other.

Ya hopefully because of this as the jerking is still bad after 5 k rpm

Hi guys, i need some help. Ive drove my 1.5tcp for almost 3 month with 10k milleage. Besides than some annoying minor rattling sound which i still can bear with it, the driving experience is quite enjoyable until something strange happen recently.

It all happen only 2 weeks ago, when i press the pedal from 60-90kmh, i can feel the car jerk quite heavily. At speed of 100kmh and i release the pedal also can feel minor jerk which is really frustrated..

So ive sent my car to SC ytd for 10k service and test the issue with technician and they also said can feel the jerking. But their reply was: "this is normal as it is part of CVT gearbox characteristics....and many customer also complain the same thing but they can't do anything about it." I was like WTH man... Anyone facing the same issue as me?

Hi guys, I'm thinking to get Civic 1.5 TC or 1.8

I drive mostly in city, mostly light footed but would love the turbo kick in on highway when less car.

I am learning towards 1.5 TC but I was told 1.8 is more reliable and hassle free. That why I got into dilemma as I'm also kinda a H and T person, love Jap car for their reliability and less hassle free maintenance. Upgrading from 2010 Toyota vios  icon_rolleyes.gif  .

I need some inputs from 1.5 TC drivers on
1) Sure thing 1.8 is more reliable, but is 1.5 TC reliable enough ? That wont give driver headache easily ?

2) How much hassle free of maintenance in 1.8 we are talking about ? The difference if compare to 1.5 TC. I only drive my car like around 200km weekly.

First batch owner here so far loving the turbo kick ..petrol also save la...just the front portion got gap...no time to get it done as honda says it's a 1 day issue

You can always buy non honda packing pads. I believe Bendix already started producing it even though it is not on their application list and like your tyre shop says it is more or less around that or maybe even cheaper minus the markups

Thanks so much bro I was beginning to this thread is for gst waiver 😁😁😁

VTEC is a very vague term now as it does not have to mean a cam lift system. Especially in turbocharged application. You see no merits to having a cam lift in the intake valve side of the valvetrain as the compressor would be forcing in more air than a naturally aspirated VTEC unit ever could suck in.

In fact, it was actually the same from way back when.

There are actually many types of VTEC as you can read from here and it does not necessarily mean cam lift in every case. It basically just means that there are some manipulation in the valvetrain to aid in fuel economy or improve power output beyond it's means which is basically what the name valve timing electonic control is derived from.
http://asia.vtec.net/spfeature/vtecimpl/vtec1.html

The last truly cam lift only motor from Honda was the legendary F series found in the S2000 and it achieved more than 100% volumetric efficiency and a magical 125ps / litre.

After that, they realized the K series i-VTEC although did not produce as much power but could harness it over a wider rev band than the F20C unit and it was then that the intelligent factor cam in via valve timing, hence the name i-VTEC.

It is best if you can plan all your intake and exhaust road map before doing a remap. Might also consider a Hondata Flashpro.
