Cool stuff... I still havent got time to install all softwares yet.. Just finish calibrating my macbook pro's battery... Now going to start dling softwares for it and geektool is a must since Im into desktop modding =D

It will definitely slow down your computer as you are basically using 2 types of OS. But not to the extent of total non usable. How much RAM do you have? 4GB should be enough to run Parralel or VMWare.

You can try and run Parralel and see if it is really that lagging. If it is then you could opt for RAM upgrading. Get another 2GB RAM and install it and it should be enough. =)

Most people are using geektool.. Its like the windows rainmeter... I didnt really go play with it but it should be simple.. Just follow some guides that can be found in the internet...

It wont be like samurize.... Actually samurize is quite easy as long as you are not the one customizing the codes... Haha..

I know iStat can display your CPU temp and other system monitoring gauge... But you have to pay for it..

Maybe you could try to find other widgets instead of using geektool? TRy looking at the below link

In the geektool setting properties you can set the refresh time... Set it to 1 second so it will try to refresh it every second
