I think it's just different names. Worldwide it's known as just Primacy 3 but in Asia market it's called 3ST, both replacing the outgoing Primacy HP. There's already the new Primacy 4 though.

There's already the new Primacy 4 though. I was reading about the primacy 4 that i got interested to look into the primacy 3. Was actually wondering whether the price premium on pilot sport 4 is really worth it for daily driving.Definitely am interested in the primacy 4, but only officially available january next year in europe....wonder how long will it take to reach our shores.... I have experience with that.
My car had four primacy 3 tyres as oem from the factory. After I got a flat from puncturing one tyre (side wall), I got two rear tyres replaced with primacy 3 st. My personal experience as a spirited driver, is that st loses grip a hair more than the original primacy 3. It's nothing major, but you can feel when cornering hard that the ST tyres have inconsistency a bit. The car feels like it may oversteer for a split second. When I tested rocking the car right and left, i can feel the back being a bit unsettled compared to when it was before. Did not lose control, but I didn't feel the confidence of the other that would maintain a curve at the edge. In the straight and regular driving, it is the same comfort, so no issues there. Given the choice though, I would prefer the primacy 3 as it is a bit more sure footed overall. |

There quite a big difference in price between primacy 3 and 3st if not mistaken.
You can take a look at Michelin Malaysia site and you’ll probably notice some of the 3 is rated MO (for Mercedes)/BMW, however the same size of the 3st variant isn’t and their load index is also not the same. |
