hey same problem~ i would like to have both msn active (live and 7.5)

anyone please teach me how thanks !  smile.gif

Install MSN Messenger 7.5 then copy the folder "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger" and paste it somewhere else.

Uninstall MSN Messenger 7.5 from Add/Remove Programs and install WLM 8.0. Then just create shortcuts to msnmsgr.exe inside that folder you copied.

run a polygamy patch (a-patch) on one of the clients

complete procedure:

1. install msn7.5
2. apply polygamy patch
3. copy the folder "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger" and paste it somewhere else.
4. uninstall MSN Messenger 7.5 from Add/Remove Programs and install WLM 8.0.
5. create shortcuts to msnmsgr.exe inside that folder you copied.

try this on the latest build..

Switch convo background to any image. WLM will auto-detects the major color of that image and changes its color scheme to blend in with the background!

BTW, how to remove the My Sharing Folder in My Computer???
*
you can remove it by unregistering the Messenger File Sharing Shell Extensions dll.
do this by going to start > run, and typing in:
CODE
regsvr32 -u -s "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\fsshext.dll"

or you can delete the registry entry under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\My Computer\Name Space
and it should keep your ability to use sharing folders.

Microsoft didn't announced it. Bink.nu did. The date is actually from a random German site who said they had a "source" of some kind (according to mess.be)

Part of your Messenger client cache may be corrupted.

To attempt to fix, close down Messenger if it's running, click Start, then
Run, and type the
following:
%userprofile%\contacts
and click OK.

If nothing appears in the folder, click the Tools menu, then Options, then
View tab, click
'Show hidden files or folders' and click OK. Once you are able to see the
folders,
right-click the one that corresponds to your Passport and choose Delete.

Next, click Start, then Run, and type the following:
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

Then remove the corresponding folder again in this folder.

Then restart Messenger and try signing in again.
