Whoevet say ipbone 8 batt is thr best surely need to fuk his own ass with iphone. Iphonr batt drop very quickly at mid batt life, like 70-30% range. It shows very nice percentage at full, like u charge at night 100% u wake up maybe 100 or 99. Tis just like ur car fuel indicator, and no knowledge ppl owes say 1 bar can drive how much as indicator is plainly stupid.

Never thought mate 10 battery is despite larger but also weaker.

Was thinkin about ditching note 8 and go for mate 10 but oh well. Hhahaaha

That was the biggest surprise lol.

I was expecting it to wipe the floor off everyone, then this happened.

I still remember feeling turned off by Note8's smaller battery yet bigger screen than S8+. Surely it'll suffer battery life, then youtubers start testing and it surprised everyone. I had initially wanted to wait for Note9 with hopefully bigger battery, but such reviews helped me to just get the Note8, and it's really brilliant so far, the battery life is really amazing.

Only complaint now is the fast charging feels quite slow, granted, I used OP3 previously, and the Dash Charge had spoilt me lol.

note 8 battery life is quite good when you are screen on and doing something for longer time, the battery drop slow
but you are frequently screen on and off many times just for very quick task, then you can notice that the battery drop faster
i guess maybe is the screen on trigger more battery consumption

Hi guys. Got the maple gold note 8 from q10 with rm500 voucher. Coming from nexus 6p (since dec 2015), this is just some personal opinion and review on my usage of the note 8 mainly in comparison with 6p stock android, hope this will be helpful for some. Got the phone on 10th Oct, full usage since 14th Oct (all apps installed and nexus 6p decommissioned).

General feel:
Big tall screen, superb brightness. I'm not a fan of the curved display, but its much less intrusive than s8+, and so far using it I haven't got any accidental touch of the edge, which was another main concern I had with curved bezelless edges.

On hand actually feels easier to handle than nexus 6p. The only downside to me is the mono speaker (spoiled by HTC m8 and nexus 6p). N8 speaker is not bad, but front firing speakers is DEFINITELY better. It'll be a feature I'm going to miss dearly..

I've no issue with the fingerprint sensor location after using it for 2 days (already get used to it and familiar), and the facial recognition is amazing. I enabled both ways, as I will use the pressure home touch when it's on the table, and fingerprint when I take it out my pocket or when it's dark (Facial recognition don't work).

Software:
Coming from stock android, I would say the touchwiz experience is not that bad. I've read and watched alot of s8+ n note 8 reviews. Was concerned there will be lags esp from s8+ reviews, but fortunately no such issue so far for me. Fluidity is similar or better than the 6p, except when accessing bixby page, there'll be some delay.

Bloatwares has improved significantly (compared to galaxy s3, the 1st Samsung and only Samsung I used before note 8). Anyhow this is not an issue for me as the apps can be disabled, but I was surprise that Facebook app cannot be uninstalled..

Compared to 6p, touchwiz experience has so many functions and features that it seems cluttered. However after going thru it for a week, I find it mostly functional (some are gimmicky) and quite nice to use. My advise, read before u enable any of the features, and go thru the settings page thoroughly. Also alot of the terms and conditions pages for Samsung includes clause for marketing and promotional items, which you don't have to accept. So pls look at what r the conditions you r accepting when u first set up tithe phone.

Battery life:
My setting: data is always on, Wi-Fi is always on, location on, NFC off, Bluetooth off, AOD off, power saving mode off. Data & Wi-Fi usage is about 50-50.

My usage: Web browsing alot, iflix movies and YouTube, slight gaming (playing mobile legends, asphalt 8, shadow fighter now just to try out this note8). Screen brightness is mostly about 50%, unless when I'm already on bed with lights off (lowest brightness).

My verdict: with a smaller battery, bigger and brighter screen, and more gaming involved (almost 0 gaming with the 6p), I'm surprised it can outlast my nexus 6p by almost double. Generally with the 6p, I charge my phone twice a day (overnight and arnd 5pm before I leave office) with screen on time of about 3.5~4 hrs with 5~10% battery left. Note 8 I think it'll easily get 6hrs, minimum. Even when gaming the battery doesn't drop fast, and the phone doesn't heat up too much (compared to 6p). Also the battery life improves after several charge cycles (or maybe after I disabled several of the features? Not sure.. ) so if u just started using it, bear this in mind.

Summary:
I bought this note 8 on impulse as I tot my 6p was dying, but it survived (after several restarts). Was thinking of selling this note8 off since with the rm500 voucher on q10, I think I won't lose anything, but was tempted to use it. Decided to try it on 11th Oct, and used fully on 14th Oct. No longer planning to sell it off.

Overall, I'll say it's a good buy at 3.2 or 3.3k. Definitely wont buy it at the MSRP price. Versus the s8+, I will rather got with this (only rm600 difference). I can't comment on the spen as it's down to preference. But I'll say, can live without it but having it has its advantages.

Anyway, now using the free case, and cheapo tempered glass sp which totally spoils the screen sensitivity. Will change to some cheapo plastic sp, and if it doesn't improve will use it without sp, and buy the screen protection plan. Did anyone here bought the phone online and got the Samsung protection plus later?

Also thinking of getting some dbrand skins. Anyone interested?

On weekdays, I think the best record I got was like 20hrs on battery with 6.5hrs SOT (2% battery left)

Sad that we don't and will never get the 256GB variant as official Samsung Malaysia product. Wish they would introduce it into our market without being AP unit.

i have the plan from pre-order free gift
previously tested x-one, quite like it, but i have bad hand when installed it, so look ugly at the back side
yesterday found a nice not expensive TP, that is not impact touch sensitivity so i switch to it.. after 36 hours, still good

Been using it for days now, since Friday.

Gotta say I haven't gotten completely used to it. Still feels too big compared to note 5. And it's also quite heavy (could be due to the clear cover, idk.)

Note 8 battery life is not bad. So far no regret to buy this phone. Even for me to buy new phone now, I still stick with Note 8.
