can still upgrade, but the new apple file system will not be used on your hardisk.

unlike the previous macOS upgrade, you need to manually search for it. it won't show automatically under the update tab.

From my previous experienced it is safe to wait a few month before update. Especially if you're using a lot of non-standard software. There will be compatibility issues before they release patch.

Installed and running well MBPR 13" 2013 APFS.

has anyone tried it on older hw? Not sure if I should install it on my MBP 15" mid-2010 with SSD. And if I do should I convert to APFS or stay on HFS?

Then I force restart it, then my mac failed to restart and seems like the whole system crash. Anyone know how to settle this?

my 1TB platter disk.. Mostly high sierra only work on SSD. If i wanted to install better i save money to samsung T5/western digital .. and install to external disk .. It all depend on job requirement.. As i don't time for APPLE bugs, better settle the job and reinstall at external usb 3.1 gen 2 ssd for maximum speed..

I notice Safari on High Sierra is some how laggy compare to Sierra... I'm using the 12" Macbook core i5 (Y processor) but it only happen on Safari... Chrome has no problem...

Currently I have more than 12 tabs on chrome and 8 tabs on Safari... some how I feel Safari is more laggy than Chrome... it used to be chrome more laggy before...

well I think it is the optimization laaa.. if Chrome is not laggy I think safari can fix it too...

about power I have no issue with it..

I open at least 20 tabs in chrome and 15+ tabs in Safari everyday and the notebook do not shutdown just sleep... also I have also lots of apps open mainly powerpoint, 5-8 Excel with multiple sheets inside and some essential apps like 4 cloud drive and whatsapp so far all running and the notebook can keep up... my average CPU temp around 57c to 65c kinda ok I think...have not encounter any bottle neck yet... I have use 2 Macbook pro before and I know what they can do... but so far this tini macbook has been keeping up quite solid... never felt I need a pro to do my job...

Yes. But if you are purchasing a larger SSD from the shop, get them to install it for you. Let them worry about the upgrade hassle.

it depends if the shop can do rite? becos if not wrong, the apple is using SSD that you may not be able to find in normal retail shop.

I saw from forum, a lot of them needs to buy from some online shop.

if shop does not sell, i dun think they can do for u. this is what i know though.

if u have managed to find it at shop, which it is good for u as well. thumbsup.gif

this is why.

so for those who haven't bought their new macbook, i would certainly recommend them not to cheap out on the storage itself. go for minimum 512gb to avoid the hassle later since the difference in price of 256gb vs 512gb or 128gb vs 256gb is about the same as after purchase upgrade instead since one cannot just add the extra storage on top of the existing. for example 256gb cannot just add the difference to add to 512gb later straightaway but to change a new 512gb which the existing 256gb will be into waste.

I wasn't planning to be doing what I'm doing now, so the storage part during purchase was like minimum. Now I'll be needing shitload of storage because of sizes of the edited videos and the amount of footage needed stored while editing. Omg rclxub.gif

this lesson told us that, it is better to be overkilled than regrets. we need to buffer extra especially for the 'working space' on the macbook itself.

Talking bout safari, I have some serious slowness slowness and stuttering issue in Facebook when trying to play video.

Scrolling on LYN seems abit stuttering as well.

Hi. I have a macbook pro 13" retina late 2013 model... After 2nd day upgrade to High Sierra, iPhoto & iMovie apps abruptly closed when I'm working on them. Googled and some user suggest due to using external monitor. Tried disconnect external monitor and restart but still problem exist. Feels like using Windows now...Always sudden close while working on those two apps.

Yes, that's an issue. With all 30,000 of my songs. But iTunes, managed to identify them. Just in finder, it displays that note gray symbol.
