i would like to buy a mp4.
wanna ask....how long to take to convert a .rmvb file to .avi file.....

and for 100mb rmvb file to convert to avi file....
how many mb will the avi file be>?

it depends on ur processor also...if u use pentium 1..it will take forever...

it really depends on the quality you want in your end result. The video bitrate determines the file size. So does the audio bitrate which cater for a little file size.

Also, rmvb is already a very compressed format. If you are talking about producing quality of the avi about the same as rmvb then you won't gain much size reduction.

My experience with rmvb is that the end result of my avi is not good. The reason is that rmvb is an inferior codec compared to xvid/divx. Most of the time, the converted avi file will have no so good result as the original's quality is already bad. Sure, you can have the avi file smaller but you can't have the quality better or similar.

Don't know why china and hk people like to use rmvb.

ic...that means i still can choose the quality of the avi format to determine the mb of the file?
coz the mp4 have only max of 4gb
