Watch the first 2 ep, loving it so far

like the Malaysian easter eggs in Datuk's cabin
but her wooden acting is cringeworthy doh.gif

very high production value in terms of props & CGs,
but some die-hard fans will complain the deck is too high tech laugh.gif

Also a believable character from Micheal, nice conflicts of emotions & logic from her human side vs Vulcan training

But I don't like the design of Klingons sad.gif

They get uglier with each iteration....

They are a far cry from TOS...

getting more alien like

TOS is more human like, the mongolian barbarian type

TNG a bit more in between, more ridge forhead, but still human like

Discovery changed them drastically, tiny mouth, swollen face, 4 nostrils? and their culture now is very Egyptian like

Yup...

Not like the original movie where the Klingon claims that Shakespeare should be read, in it's original Klingon... laugh.gif

Watched Ep3

one word, Wow

I know they'll go with a darker theme this time, war
but didn't expect they'll go almost all out on the violence part
severed leg, check
twisted body in unimaginable way, check
a pile of flesh, check
IINM, that's a first in Star Trek universe

and Capt Lorca? another wow
very very dark & mysterious Capt, someone that doesn't afraid to break Starfleet rules, and will do anything just to win the war thumbup.gif

Also I think we'll see main LGBT character in this show, Stamets looks and feels like a gay
Also good to see more women in the show, on a equal basis, when the previous shows are mostly male dominant casts.

Ep4

good but a bit of meh side...

Klingon side still had me cringing, the rubbery facial is a pain to watch

But Starfleet side had me sitting on the edge of me seat

It's good to see they explore a darker side of Starfleet, a relentless capt that's on a warpath, a black ops, to exploit everything just to win the war, and didn't expect a potential main to kick the bucket so soon, another GoT style of story telling maybe? hmm.gif

Ep 5

a "returning" character from TOS, but overall, a mediocre episode

but plus point for boldly taking the star trek series to where no one has done before
gore, violence, grim, & open homosexuality

The show too diverse in my opinion.

Too many females lead, and the males either gay or aliens.

Only the captain is a normal man.

Ep 6

I hate flashback
I hate flashback
especially those flashback that were in pieces doh.gif

Anyway... Spock is mentioned, and Holodeck!

and near the end of episode, I thought Lorca gonna take a dark path where no Starfleet commander has gone before, but.... meh

This Female Michael reminds of Seven of Nine. Her demeanor , her acting.

Did I see a smirk in Lorca's reflection on the window at the end of the ep6?

another Groundhog Day/time loop cliche plot

but at least they make it more interesting by showing the loop from the POV of those outside the loop

this is the Trekiest episode so far...
