Current setup : Dual band AC66U + 1043ND as repeater.

SSID : Home (5Ghz), Home_1 (2.4GHz) & Home_Guest (2.4Ghz) (total 3 network)

I know setting up a repeater will halved the network bandwith

My question: -

If I do repeater on the Guest network (2.4Ghz band)...would my other network on 2.4Ghz band (ie. Home_1) is also suffering from halved the bandwith?

I'm looking for a quick answer so I don't have to test the whole network.

Many thanks.

The halved bandwidth is only on the repeated the network.

Your existing network will not be affected.

Thanks for the quick reply. For my clarity: -

1. Home (5Ghz) - not affected
2. Home_1 (2.4GHz) - not affected
3. Home_Guest (2.4Ghz) - halved the bandwidth due to using repeater on this network.

Basically, it limited only to network (SSID). Not frequency (as in 2.4Ghz). I'm I correct?

It is not that straight forward.

The repeated SSID is only capable of half of the actual bandwidth of the network. The other 2.4Ghz SSID will be affected as well as the resource is shared between 2 SSID.

You can use a powerline wireless extender to solve this.
