so...after been read all the pages here...
if coming from other telco(in my case umobile prepaid) the best way is port in >

1)port in to hotlink from umobile
2)port in to ookyo from hotlink

so...do I need to stay on hotlink for 30 day before can apply to port in to ookyo? or I can port on the same day?

yes, you can choose any 4 apps and youtube is one of them.
Basically, a combination of FB, WhatsApp, Youtube and Instagram should cover all your data-heavy consumption on phone.

The video quality is capped at 480p though, good enough for a smartphone, may not be good enough for tablet/ipad user.

I did a port in from Digi, simcard arrived on time.
even though simcard shows expiry on september 2018, can still activated, and port in within 15min. can straight use. been using for a week now. no problem so far

RM30 is the 'standard' for prepaid (big 4). Hotlink for example is RM35 for 6GB (and no unlimited apps). Of course Digi/U are very much cheaper since they throw in free calls and even free SMS, meaning don't need to spend above the RM30.

If your area has good Digi/U coverage without severe congestion issues then those are better, I used both of them for multiple years. However congestion was too bad, no point having lots of GB but can't use it, so I'm finally back on Maxis network after more than a decade. Compared to Hotlink its cheap.

Nonsense. Digi RM30 plan is 150 minutes on net 150 minutes off net. U mobile U28  50 minutes to all networks.

planning to port in from digi but the number is registered under my mom's name long time ago. will the port in be successful as the ookyo plan is under my name? any idea? read the below from FAQ - seems like it won't work?

When signing-up for ookyo, select "Current Number" then provide your port-in details.
Make sure your port-in details (Name, ID number) exactly match the details you're using to register for ookyo.

Any difference from normal port out? All also need account to be active not in grace right, no matter what telco/MVNO.

Same to normal port out..some user think they want to port out when in grace..maybe they don't know what grace is..

For ookyo..there no short extension..meaning you have to port out within the 30 days..or else activate it another 30 days..cannot do 7 days or less than 30 days..

Already sees many user successfully port out to umobile..unifi mobile even hotlink back..
