Hi,

Looking for anyone in Klang Valley that provides thermal repasting service for laptops. Thinking of repasting my Alienware 15 R2 CPU/GPU with liquid metal. Too scare to do by myself (lol) as the disassembly process is much more difficult compared to other laptops.

Bro, it's not difficult to replace.

Just youtube about it, you save much more doing it yourself and it is good to re-paste every year.

It will improve your temperature by around 1-3c

I did watched the teardown, repasting videos and read the service manual provided by Dell. Problem with Alienware laptops are their internal design is kinda complicated thus very high risk of accidental cable/component damage. I won't mind DIY myself if doing it on desktop systems or just your average laptops. If any of you guys had any experience repasting Alienware laptops, do share smile.gif.

Saw a lot of stories that liquid metal can reduce temperature up to 20C on desktop and around 10C for notebooks. Way better than the standard grease TIM.

I don't think taking out just the heatsink can be very difficult.. Cause the laptop is designed that way for you to easily remove the heatsink and repaste

I own a Illegear and I do the servicing myself, I believe the internal design is kinda similar to Alienware as well.

Liquid metal of course can reduce LOL.. Cause without the paste you'll burn your GPU, the temperature will easily hit 90 degrees, with the paste it will go down to 6x-7x it depends on how often you clean your heatsink, the dust can decrease the performance of the fan's spinning speed and etc

I'm using MX4, you can just get them from shopee/lazada it's cheap
