Hi all sifu here,

My current problem is the aztech homeplug I use disconnect often. Nearly everyday I require to turn off the master homeplug and slave homeplug to get my internet. bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

My current ISP is Maxis Home Fibre with 20mbps plan

My current router is Asus RT-AC68U

The reason why I want to use homeplug because i think LAN cable will have better and more stable internet connection for gaming or streaming on my desktop. My house is a double-storey, thats why my router is placed downstair and the master homeplug is also plugged at the downstair. FYI, the electric circuit in my house is dual phase.

Homeplug that used:
1. Aztech HL119EP (Master)
2. Aztech HL117E (slave) x3

The only solution I can think of:

1. Do I need to change all homeplug to other brand? But I have no idea which is better brand cry.gif
2. Or I should get a good wifi adapter for my desktop on gaming basis?

Hope can hear from the sifus here for more solution biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance. thumbsup.gif

Single or 3-phase. Very few people use 2-phase. Try plugging into sockets that are on the same phase. If on different phase, you will have that problem.

Wah. That is is almost useless nowadays laugh.gif

I wonder if you have the homeplug on same phase. Are you able to detect signal from the wireless router say at the hall upstairs?

I have that exact same problem. Never able to solve it after using for one full year. Tried different plugs nearby also same thing. This is the cons of homeplug vs dedicated lan cable.

No point changing homeplugs to another brand. It's your internal power wiring that is causing the fluctuation in speed. You should choose a good wifi adapter.

I would drill a hole on the wall near the BTU and run LAN cable external to upstairs and make another LAN plug upstairs. Se up another AP upstairs. This probably the best. Of course if you are handyman like me and have all the tools. Another solution is to use mesh router, providing that you are able to get good signal from 1st router and 2nd router. The 2nd router can be place maybe at hall upstairs near the stairs which I think the signal would be strongest. smile.gif

I suspect that the electrical wire downstairs and the wire upstairs are on different phase

Try to get them on the same phase. May or may not be possible depending on how your sockets are wired. My house is single-phase and I was using homeplugs with no probs for almost 3 years.

My house is also 3 phase but they seems to work fine(using them for a few months) ... The router side (downstairs) and the other end (upstairs, other end of the house). If following dB box row they are on the same row with a few switch in between.

Mine is the tp link av1200 with wifi ap built in.... Also the house is old and I'm getting around 800mbps link between the powerline adapter according to the tplink software

Do you know your house phase wiring? Most double story houses have the ground floor and upper floor on 2 different ring circuits for the 3-pin power sockets. In your case, it is possible that the upper and ground floor are on different phase but if that is true I think the powerline could not connect hmm.gif

If they are on same phase, the upper and ground floor are on different circuit breaker. It will work but the performance can be poor because signal has to go across circuit breaker.
