how much that cost? nvm, check it out already. 2k plus. is it good enough?

It could be but I wouldn't use if I were you as you seem to be a complete beginner at networking, no offence, and this is not used a lot in Malaysia yet, so if there are any potential problems, you could be stuck at troubleshooting the issue.

Nice. Long time I didn't explore Asus stuff. Quite cheap for good stuff. But I found the cheapest set at 2.8K, http://www.11street.my/productdetail/lowes...k-of-3-50147139

Well it still quite cheaper than Cisco AP.

Guess the 11 street is shipped from oversea.
Malaysia is only selling RM1999

Just get this Asus router. My Whatsapp already ringing from the 2.4ghz signal while I'm waiting for my autogate to open to drive into my car porch. Strong 2.4ghz signals while 5ghz is moderate as expected. I even cool it down with a fan.

If you still want to extend your signals via a wireless method, get a "repeater aka wireless bridge", those cheaper Asus models. An access point is a WIRED (via ethernet LAN cable) extension.

What model of Asus router is that? Looks fancy. I'm thinking that it could be Asus RT-AC88U?

1) 2nd / 3rd router works in repeater mode (wds or universal repeater mode) or better WISP mode

and/or

2) homeplug

So this is the house. I thought office because you said you want to connect your network staff (not stuff)  laugh.gif

For example this Lyra set comes with 3 units (meaning 3 AP - access point or people here called wireless router). You put one connected to Unifi BTU, one on 2nd floor and one on 3rd floor. The units will backhaul to each other wirelessly. Usually they have dedicated channel to connect to each other to transfer data. So, all 3 units have same SSID. So, it is like having one wireless AP for whole house.

You can try Google for mesh router to understand more. I heard the Google one is good. This Asus cost RM2000 (comes with 3 units of AP)

I have Lyra but it will not connect to Unifi, I think it is something to do with not having a smart switch or a setting in the router to include IPTV tagging.

Do you have Lyra installed and did you get it to work?

No I did not buy Lyra yet. I brief through quick set-up manual. Nothing much there. The FAQ said it support openVPN. It can pass through the VPN. Not sure how you configure. You have the BTU connected to your original wireless router which has dedicated VPN port for HyppTV right? I would just leave if as it is but disable DHCP. Connect the LAN port to Lyra and let your Lyra to be DHCP server, so that all your devices get the IP address from Lyra.

Hi Ramirez100,

Maybe you can try on the firmware below, because the current firmware don't have the VLAN function.

Do let me know if you face any problem.

Thank you

Thanks for the help. I downloaded the firmware and installed it but the result was the same. I can put in the PPPoE username and password but the Lyra will just not connect to the internet through.

At one point, under the Internet Status it said "cannot connect because the DHCP server isnt functioning correctly" but it was set up identical to my RT-AC1200G+ router.

The router that works has an IPTV tab with a Select ISP Profile, this tab doesnt seem to exist on Lyra or on the firmware you provided.

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
